Yeah the LGR review is great. Can maybe be some consolation for the frustrated OP, LGR has more than 1.5 million subscribers after all.

Re: X-zone cursor - how does it behave on original hardware

Update: paulb-nl confirmed this was not an issue on original hardware. He adjusted the superscope emulated lightgun signal timing, which greatly improved the cursor alignment. You can download the test build using the link in my OP above. Correction: He recently showed, in the github thread, the real superscope works perfectly on MiSTer via SNAC. S...

Um you are aware that you can run all arcade cores from a single de-10 nano, right? Only reason to have several fpga boards is if you have more than one setup (e.g. several arcade cabinets).

Re: X-zone cursor - how does it behave on original hardware

The O.G. hardware shows no cursor for these games. That is incorrect actually. Push the button on the front handle and an on-screen cursor appears. Remember, the superscope operates differently than e.g. the NES light gun. https://www.gamesdatabase.org/Media/SYSTEM/Nintendo_SNES/Title/big/X-Zone_-_1992_-_Kemco.jpg I would have to check the video a...

X-zone cursor - how does it behave on original hardware

Hello, I opened a ticket on the snes github regarding the cursor alignment in the Superscope game X-zone. I wanted to try out some games after seeing the recent MLiG video (where Try also reports the same Mister behavior as below). Contrary to other superscope games, working fine on my end using Wiimote, in X-zone the emulated crosshair does not ma...

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?

This was curious. Foxbats test does show the CX does proper framelock with genesis core at least (sub-60Hz system). EDIT: or wait Foxbat wasn’t testing on a CX were you? The issue with SMW or nes/snes in general I would presume would have been picked up by some prominent people in the scene, like retrorgb. I know he has an older model (C9 maybe?). ...

It exists and afaik Marqs still updates it because he can get feedback on features such as deinterlacing. The board is not sold by anyone though, you have to get it made yourself.

Re: x5 Integer Scaling with cropping + H/V Int. Scaling for arcade cores

I’d say it’s pretty clear, just by the looks of various games such as Dodonpachi and the CPS1 games, screen real estate was utilized to the max and arcade operators were expected to adjust the cabinets to remove overscan. After all, most boards have a test pattern to make such adjustment easy. H+V integer scale could still be nice in some cases tho...

No you don't need keyboard connected, just map Menu to a gamepad/joystick button combination in the main settings.

So then you can access menu with this button combination, and do reset from there.

Re: Your Search Query Was Ignored Because They Are Too Common Words

Great, it works now!

My search yesterday was for ”arcade list” because i knew there was a thread called exactly this. But it didnt give results because of the issue. I added sdram as search term, but same problem.

After your changes, I get proper results from searches with those terms! So big thumbs up!

Your Search Query Was Ignored Because They Are Too Common Words

Hi, the search function is sometimes ineffective because of this ”too common” limitation.

This occurs even if I combine several words. I’ve tried forcing combinations with +, or searching exact phrase with quotation marks, but neither seems to work.

Any tips to get around this issue?

I tested all arcade cores available at the time a while back and posted it here:

On another note, clearly the search function should be improved on this site. The topic of the thread is "Arcade List", but those terms are not searchable either because they are too common...

I think you are referring to this thread. viewtopic.php?f=33&t=303
The OP has a solution to the 5V problem using an HDMI repeater.
They also discuss the CEC problem later in the thread.

Re: Savegames randomly stop working.

In the SNES thread on autosaving, there was a suggestion of Mister creating a backup of save game files automatically. I think that would be a good idea in general, but certainly as a stop-gap measure until this issue is tracked down and fixed. E.g. every time SRAM is comitted to SD card for saving, the previous save file (if existing) gets renamed...

It's a Philips 43" 1080p TV, 43PFT5301. It has been very tolerant with OSSC, so I was a bit surprised I ran into this problem actually.

Scaler issue, expected behavior?

Hi I have an issue where v-sync =2 only works consistently in 720p mode, whereas it will "bug out" for some cores in 1080p. It seems related to the refresh rate of the specific core. E.g. SNES works with v-sync=2 in both 720p and 1080p (60.1Hz). While NeoGeo works with v-sync =2 in 720p only (59.1 Hz ? I forget exactly) . In 1080p it look...

Re: Arcade List

What I can add is which cores DO NOT work without SDRAM board (I tried them all out while my SDRAM board was stuck in transit). 😀 As a rule of thumb, all ”simpler” arcade games work (ca pre-1986) EXCEPT: Bally MCR-3 (Discs of tron, Journey, Tapper, Timber). Bally MCR-Monoboard (Demolition derby, Discs of Tron, Rampage, Sarge, Star guards). Bally MC...

I’ve also had issues with sound not loading at all, or being stuck (repeating) some certain sound effect. I guess we just need to wait until Dar has time to fix it (according to the readme he did the soundboard). It wasn’t updated for 3...
