Re: Favorite wireless SNES controller to use?

It depends on what you want for if the 8bitdo bluetooth dongle is worth it. The biggest benefit of the 8bitdo bluetooth usb for me is that the controller stays paired to it even if you unplug it, so I have my arcade stick paired to it and I can easy swap it between different consoles, mister and PC by just connecting the usb. Other than the arcade ...

Re: Favorite wireless SNES controller to use?

When I was using the Nintendo Switch SNES controllers, if it didn't connect, I would tap the pair button to turn the controller off and try again, usually after a few tries it would work, but occasionally I would get fed up and just fully re-pair it again. One fix for the connection issues is to use the 8bitdo usb dongle with it, which should be av...

Re: Favorite wireless SNES controller to use?

I'm pretty sure there were other options in the "Shipping destination" box before, I don't think that is where it is shipping from. Also, "delivery method" was "China e-packet" for my order, not "Post NL", but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore. There are separate kits for snes classic and original sne...

Re: Favorite wireless SNES controller to use?

Hmm.. that's strange, they were shipping to USA and Canada when I ordered my ps1 classic kits in August.
Unfortunately I think their website is the only place you can get the diy kits.

Re: Favorite wireless SNES controller to use?

It works with standard bluetooth adapters. It uses a 3.5mm barrel to usb a cable to charge, I don't think it is proprietary, I have seen other electronics with similar cables, but haven't tried using a cable other than what it came with. The nub where the charging cable attaches also glows to show you when the controller is on/charging/pairing. The...

Re: Favorite wireless SNES controller to use?

I use a snes classic controller with the 8bitdo diy bluetooth board. It still has the official feel and doesn't have the connection issues the switch ones do. I do miss having the extra 2 buttons the switch controller has so one can be used as a dedicated menu button though.

Re: SNAC adaptor board and controller ports

I would recommend getting/making Daemonbite usb adapters instead: https://www.daemonbite.com/shop/ They are usb but have very low input lag. According to MisterAddons' input lag spreadsheet when used with original controllers they have 1-2ms input lag, or a 90%+ chance of your inputs being read on the same frame you pressed the button. Some conveni...

Re: SNAC adaptor board and controller ports

I don't have a SNAC adapter, so I'm not 100% on this, but from what I understand from looking into it myself, there is no way to have more than one adapter/controller connected to snac at once, even if you are only actually using one at a time. You just need the 1 SNAC board and you change the adapter when you want to use a different controller. Ma...

Re: 8BitDo Arcade Stick

I use their previous stick (with upgraded buttons and stick) and it is great.
It is really nice having a wireless stick for casual play and it has a wired mode as well if you need less input lag.
Also, according to MisterAddons' input lag spreadsheet it has comparably low input lag both in wireless(windows) mode and wired mode.

Re: What software is this?

Since 240p Test Suite only tests in whole frames, maybe any amount of input lag higher than the CRT would make the HDTV show 1 frame of lag? I guess maybe there should be a small period of time (< 16ms) where it says the same frame? I don't have a CRT to compare mine to, so I'm just making assumptions about how much lag it has compared to a CRT bas...

Re: What software is this?

There are also a couple input lag databases that have some displays in them: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/input-lag https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tests/inputs/input-lag https://displaylag.com/display-database/ From those sites I was able to find my monitor and new tv, which both have about 10ms input lag. The test they use should come ou...

Re: What software is this?

This particular test is only for comparing 2 screens. The numbers are just a timer and will increase as you leave the test up. The frames are how many frames at 60fps has passed. The big 1-8 numbers are frames too, they just cycle through 1-8 and then repeat to make it easy to see how many frames different the 2 displays are. oldtv.jpg Here is an e...

IO Board with 2 User I/O ports?

Would an IO board variation with 2 User I/O ports be possible?
Maybe in place of the second sd card slot?
When the psx core is available, it would be great to be able to play 2-player lightgun games, also 2 player snac would be cool to see as an option for other cores.

Re: What software is this?

You need a way to display the same thing on 2 screens at once, the analog io board + hdmi for mister would work or you can use an hdmi matrix for 2 hdmi displays. Then you put the test on and display it on both screens and take a picture or a slow motion video of both screens at once and you can see how many frames behind one display is from the ot...

Re: MiSTer on a Samsung Q80T at 1440p?

Did you check for that "Game motion plus" setting? If it is on, you can save another frame of lag by turning it off. It is in the settings under General -> External Device Manager -> Game Mode Settings.

I have the Rii i4.
I mapped the "Home" button to osd, the "Menu" button to bluetooth pairing and the "back" button to esc so I only need to use the keys on the top half for navigating.

Re: MiSTer on a Samsung Q80T at 1440p?

Unfortunately I had to exchange mine, there was what looked like dust trapped under the screen, it looked like a dead pixel but it was irregularly shaped. The store didn't have any so they need to order one. I'll see if it can do 1920x1440 when I get the replacement!

Re: MiSTer on a Samsung Q80T at 1440p?

I just got a q90t, the low input lag is amazing. Did you turn off the "Game motion plus" setting? I think it is buried under external device settings or something like that, it adds an extra frame of input lag. I don't have a CRT to test with, but I have a monitor with 10ms input lag according to displaylag.com and the tv has no more lag ...

Re: Does each core have a history.txt or changelog viewable somewhere?

You can check out the commit history on github, for example for the nes core: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/NES_MiSTer/commits/master Some you will only see a 1 line commit message, but others will have a number link beside it that will show you a pull request, which often has a more detailed description. Like for example the commit "APU rew...

Sinden Lightgun

This lightgun looks like it would be a good fit for mister. It works on hdtvs and doesn't use the wii method, instead it uses image recognition and seems to work very well and you don't need to recalibrate every time you move. It does require a software border to be added to the display, but that seems like something that could be added to mister c...
