It did not go through the beta period. I released it directly as public. Even if it was a beta, all betas display correct video and sound regardless of whether the beta key is present or not.
The problem reported above is likely due to missing the right ROM files.

Re: Twin Cobra PCB
I am in the U.S. and have a Twin Cobra PCB. It is something I bought in 2009 and never tested/played. I don't have a Mister but do have an Analogue Pocket. I am ignorant as to what arcade games/cores are available for the Mister. I was wondering if a core containing Twin Cobra has been released? If not, are any devs interested in reverse engineeri...

Re: Why Are So Many Cores Missing Horizontal & Vertical Position Settings for CRTs?
You cannot fix the overscan, it is what it is. The only thing we can do on the analogue output is move the synchronization pulses around a bit. That has the effect of moving the relative image position within the screen. I also included an option to stretch the image horizontally a bit, but it can only help so much. In the end, we cannot emulate th...

Re: Xilinx Compatibility
Porting a core alone is one thing, but you also have to provide things like disc access and controllers, video out, ... that come from our MiSTers Linux application and FPGA framework. E.g. i ported the GBA core in less than a week to the Nexys Video board(Xilinx Artix 7). But to do that, i previously made a very simplistic framework for the board...

Re: Hotkey to Mute MiSTer?
As far as I know, the sound output comes directly from the FPGA, so when the FPGA gets reconfigured to become a different hardware, the sound output is not driven. Hence the noise. In order to prevent this, the part of the system that is kept alive in between core changes should take control of the audio. That part is the linux subsystem. But, as f...

Show display information on OSD instead of battery status
When I go into the OSD and press left, I get the information screen (where you can set the core/global volume and select the config file). Some people get the display resolution there. I only get wrong information about a battery which does not exist.
Is there a way to hide the battery miss-information?
Using MiSTer v220529

Check that your downloader.ini file, at the root of the SD card, contains a jtcores section:

Re: New Konami cores (public release)
The thing is that Alien Syndrome works with the same RBF and it has severe problems (character stuck and sped-up count down). I want to finish it this month because for me it also feels like a weight when a beta lasts so long.gamingarena wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 8:33 pm Any estimate on Shinobi release? Re: Jotego's RoboCop Beta Core Released to Patreon Subscribers
Just an update on my issues, i just ran the update_all script again and it seems to work ok now, played on past level 3, and left it running for an hour with no hangups or issues, so not sure what was going on there but all is ok, many thanks to JT. A bad compilation made its way to the first beta by mistake. It was failing on some FPGA devices. I...

Re: New Konami cores (public release)
You seem to be running the beta versions. Update your system. The public ones read v0f9469c in the OSD about screen. You can also tell because the OSD colour is gray, whereas the beta ones use a yellow colour.

Re: When is Sega 16 being Released to the Poor Public?
Although a long list of titles already work correctly, I still have another long list of titles to fix before making a public release. This is the list of missing games as of today. Anyway, if you want to enjoy the ~100 games working and support the development, you know where to go. ;) The names below refer to the MAME setname: ############ Workin...

Yes, I have a plan since a while ago but have been slow putting it to practice. Many of the cores I made in the second half of the year were designed to ease high score saving but I haven't added the rest of the logic needed to execute it yet.

Shaolin's Road (Kicker)
Finally, it's here, the public release for Kicker. Extracting the full schematics manually was not the full story. For a specific custom chip, I had to write a small custom code to run in the original board to check what it was doing. I could verify that the chip was reporting the current scan line to the CPU. The game software actually reads it, b...

Hi N.Master,
If there are no schematics available, I extract them from the PCB either fully or partly depending on the need. Measuring signals is very important too, particularly for custom chips. I have a Demon's World PCB at home from Gyrrus. The plan is to do that one after Flying Shark as they share some chips.

I am finishing Konami's Kicker schematics next week. Toaplan schematics for the Twin Cobra PCB are next. I am trying to include extracted schematics as part of core releases. Schematics ar good for preservation, repairing and also to allow others to check whether the FPGA implementation is accurate. The first system for which I released schematics ...

Re: Namco ND-1
Schematics are rarely available. I collect all I can find on the internet as PDF files. I also buy the ones I find on eBay. But, they are still uncommon. For most arcade games, if you want the schematics, you have to create them yourself using the actual PCB. You can see the schematics I made for Exed Exes from the PCB here . So PCBs are necessary ...

Sorry, I don't come here often. I am the owner of my code, the license does not apply to me, as you can imagine. My cores use mostly my own intellectual property, with the exception of some of the CPUs. These CPUs have permissive licenses (not GPL ones). In cases like the M68000 core, which is GPL3, I have expressed permission by the author to use ...
