Re: Missing Top 8 Lines of Analog Video

Do you have the vertical crop (ie. 216p) option enabled, by any chance? That affects analog output as well, not just HDMI.

Re: Logitech MX Mechanical Wireless Keyboard Question?

It has to be connected by a Logitech Bolt USB receiver, apparently. I ordered assuming it'd work. Once a Bolt dongle is paired it just appears as a regular USB keyboard regardless of OS. I read that to pair, you need the Logi Bolt App to pair Logi Bolt compatible devices with the Logi Bolt receiver. That's what's thrown me. Yeah but you only need ...

No reason to believe it wouldn't. A keyboard is a keyboard.

Re: Expanding the forum to include other retro gaming?

This forum is very low traffic, I doubt that any new non-MiSTer topics will get much attention (sadly). My feeling is, that with the start of discord the traffic became lower. I personally don't like discord as a "support" platform. Nothing is sorted, you don't find things, it's a chat. But many ppl seem to see this different. (Or I don'...

I think this forum could use an Analogue Pocket topic, as often echoed here there's certainly a large enough overlap in MiSTer owners and Pocket owners to justify it.

Re: N64 Core

So... I broke down and am now testing the N64 core after just editing the two lines in my .ini. Really stupid of me to have waited. It's nice to see what it WOULD have looked like if I HDMI modded my Ice Blue N64. I have a Blisster so my N64 controllers both old and new are doing great. EXCEPT: I seem to be able to move left/right but not up/down....

Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSTer?

One beauty of using an external USB HD is that, if you want to copy lots of large ISOs, you can just unplug it from the Mister, plug it straight into your PC, and copy over the files. Really fast, no network to deal with, and your SDCard can be used purely for the OS. But you can literally do the exact same thing with the SD card as well? No, not ...

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

@nonono. Where can one find this test ROM please? I’m using a NSO controller as I can’t seem to get SNAC to work on my Mistercade. The range is spot on but I find it is a little too sensitive. It is hard to get Mario to creep or walk slowly and he launches into a sprint too soon. It’s really hard to aim the cannon for example. Is there anything I ...

First I want to say thanks to Robert for his dedicated work on this and other MiSTer cores, he has done so much to add value to this platform and I'm very thankful for it! My question is: At this point in the N64 core's development, am I doing myself any favors by waiting for it to hit the main update_all distro? Normally I wait on WIP cores since...

Re: Controllers for Each Core Is This Possible? [Solved]

A controller gets assigned as the next player in line (player 1, player 2, etc) whenever you press one of its buttons. You can force unassignment of all controllers by selecting "Reset player assignment" in the MiSTer UI (you don't need to exit the current running core, press right to go to the System page of the UI and it will be the 4th...

Re: Mac keyboard screenshot help

Honestly, there should be a mappable screenshot button. I don't like having to switch to a keyboard every time I want to take a screenshot. Especially considering that many modern controllers have dedicated screenshot buttons for that very purpose. It should be like the Menu action where you can assign it as either a dedicated button, or a button ...

Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSTer?

It should work but I don't understand why anyone would spend $200~ on a micro SD when you could buy a USB drive (even an SSD) in much larger capacities for far cheaper. Anyone who doesn't want a USB drive dangling off their MiSTer? It's not that hard to understand. Any storage method that MiSTer supports (SD card, USB drive, network share) has adv...

Re: Is this frequency showing correct on crt?

The exact "standard" frequency of NTSC is 59.94Hz, but virtually any device (and in the case of MiSTer, any core) will deviate slightly from that spec depending on their output resolution and other timings. Which is fine and intended, because CRTs are designed to have a certain amount of leeway. It is one of the major advantages of MiSTer...

Re: SNAC adapter with USB on both sides?

Is it safe to chain two level shifters? I ask because the Multisystem user port claims to have a built-in level shifter according to its manual, and I ordered a SNAC adapter from UltimateMister which apparently also has one. I haven't received it yet, but I'm still confused on how all that will interact. You can disable the onboard level shifters....

The full list of all "first party" cores (ie. part of the standard MiSTer distribution) is here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Wiki_MiSTer/wiki/Cores

That doesn't include third party cores (the two most notable sources being Jotego's JTCORES, and Coin-Op Collection).
