Re: Atari Jaguar Core

Dual ram costs money. Before jumping in, perhaps it'd be wise to wait for a compatibility chart or at least a bit more information about how this core performs. A few comments about how games "work" or are "playable" isn't really saying much. I don't have the link handy, but there is a compatibility Google sheet going and somet...

Internet Archive is still down until its back Update_all has no where to get the files

Robert didn’t mention it, but I actually provided him with my copies of the bios files for those cores that work fine for me, but they don’t work for him. Not sure of what the issue could be.

Can either of you guys check the CRC-32 hash of your file and report back what it is? Just to verify that the correct version is definitely being used? It's interesting because your errors match what a couple other users saw with the messed up build that went out a on the 19th.

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3 - freezing on latest SNES core?

I've updated again and with the new downloaded core (v240919) I still have the same issue. The game freezes before first level. Deleted snes.cfg and same behavior again. I have also tried with the unstable version (v240925) and the game doesn't boot, all I have is a black screen. My mister is a standard DE-10 Nano. Maybe is a ram issue? (mine is s...

Hello, I tried to play Kirby's Dream Land 3 and it freezes in the intro screen to the very first level. Tried two different rom copies, same issue. The roms work on my Analogue Super NT and snes9x emulator on PC. Maybe a bug in the latest SNES core? (i ran update all this week) I've never had a game freeze like that in the SNES Mister core. I did notice that a new unstable release for the core just dropped today in the Discord. Maybe try that one and see if it works?

hmm…maybe just worn down membranes where after a while it takes way less pressure for the membrane to come into contact with the board? I guess first thing I would do is take a wonky controller, replace the button membranes and if that fixes it. I’m not sure what the Buffalo membranes look like, but I’d guess standard SNES replacement button membra...

*MS-DOS 4.00 has been open sourced ScummVM is its own separate emulator, so this isn’t relevant for that. MS-DOS 4.00 could certainly be used in the 0MHz collection for a good number of games, but I don’t think it’s necessarily going to run many games better than they already run using DOS 7.1 like most games in the 0Mhz pack already do. Easiest is to rename unstable core. If you want both, you have to change the rbf line in each mgl

thanks! that's the solution i'm looking for. so i'll replace the original AO486 core with the unstable and rename it.

Ah yeah, I misunderstood what you were asking before. Sorry!

Is it possible to use the AO486 unstable core with 0MHz collection? Im asking because I think the MGLs are tied to the stables core or am I wrong?

Should work fine. The MGL only specifies what core to use, it doesn't care about what version the core is.

Still working on v1.0, but here's another small update for VHD Kitchen so it now checks to make sure that you enter a number >= 3. Apparently, you can't make a VHD any smaller than 3MB and I didn't catch that before  This is also true in Windows Disk Management. It's also worth noting that you can't enter decimals either, you must specify a w...

I'm still actively working on adding games for the 0MHz pack, but funny enough we actually figured out that the first three games that were contenders for this potential DOSBox pack work fine in AO486 so long as you run them from Windows 3.1  So, at the moment my list of potential games for this pack is back at 0, but I'...

I'm contemplating adding a setname same dir option to 0mhz downloader, where every game gets it's own config file named after the mgl. Is this feature already in main and is it even a good idea to add this option to all mgls? same_dir attribute is not in stable main just yet, it’s still only available in unstable. That said, I think it’s a good id...

Re: Dual SDRAM with Mixed Versions

Yeah, I have a 2.9 in primary and a 2.5 in secondary slot. That said, nothing really takes advantage of it yet except the work in (seemingly stalled) progress Jaguar core. The PSX and Saturn cores have dual ram builds, but you won’t notice any differences in PSX and there aren’t really any differences for Saturn at this point either.

That is seriously weird. Would using MOSLO from vanilla DOS help to correct this one in plain DOS.

Not sure, but actually, this game seems to run too fast no matter what you do in DOS (I've tried 7.1 and 6.22), so maybe slowing the system down could actually fix it?

So, I've been talking to OP on Discord for a while now without realizing they started this thread

OP discovered that Rusty runs almost flawlessly so long as you run it in DOS via Windows 3.1. If anyone wants to check it out, just go to archive and search "Rusty DOS 0MHz".

Slight update in that VHD Kitchen will now prompt you if your VHD Size already exists in the "VHDs" folder. You can cancel the process or overwrite the file. This will change soon where the user will specify the name of the file, but for now I thought it was good to add. EDIT: Updated again because I realized that DOSBox-X is open source ...

OK! This one should definitely work!
