Re: USB Hub Broken After Last Update
The issue is in the Linux kernal update and has nothing to do with update_all as the script is just installing the official update which is what causes the issue.

Are you sure?
Looking at the GitHub page they have not updated the main readme about that yet.

Re: Anyone know anything about these boards?
Hi, I'm new here and thinking about getting a MISTer. What I'm wondering about these boards: Is there an extra SD card slot like on the regular IO boards? Doesn't look like it but you really don't need it. The X68000 is the only core I am aware of that requires it which last time I looked was unfinished. Pretty sure if someone picked up developmen...

Cheers,
dkongjr worked. It seems the vertical text when you bring up the menu is the name of the core not the rbf file name which is what I was trying.

Custom vsync_adjust core settings in MiSTer.ini
I have vsync_adjust=2 in my MiSTer.ini and this works on my TV for nearly everything I use except a few arcade cores like Donkey Kong Junior and Donkey Kong 3. My screen just flickers and keeps going blank. If I want to add a custom setting do I use the core name? The mra name? If I add [DonkeyKongJunior] vsync_adjust=1 or [Donkey Kong Junior] vsyn...

Re: Anyone know anything about these boards?
I have the SS board and the silver aluminum case. What questions do you have about it? Just the quality and reliability. Seeing it was an "unknown" project I was looking to see if anyone had had a good or bad experience with it. I love the look of the cases but was reluctant to spend almost $200 dollarydoos on something with very little ...

Re: Anyone know anything about these boards?
I made this thread to see if anyone had experience with them, I personally will still stick to official IO boards but this is an interesting project and the cases do look fantastic. AliExpress is just a marketplace, the quality depends on the seller. There are good, bad and terrible sellers on the platform. I even made this post when I first starte...

Re: Anyone know anything about these boards?
I bought a 7 port USB hub off of Aliexpress that was labeled as 2.0 (480mbps). It was identical to another one I bought off eBay. However, after the most recent Linux updates the Aliexpress one stopped working, but the eBay one didn't have any issues. Turns out they have different chips in them and the Aliexpress one is actually running at 1.1 (12...

Re: Powered USB hub and devices connected to it no longer functioning after update
Just 500 Hz on its own - not working. Changing v=loglevel=4 to v=loglevel=9 - also not working. v=loglevel=4 usbcore.autosuspend=-1 usbhid.jspoll=1 xpad.cpoll=1 - works, even my wifi dongle lights up, but the keypresses are inconsistent. v=loglevel=4 usbcore.autosuspend=-1 usbhid.jspoll=2 xpad.cpoll=2 - same thing, works inconsistently. What about...

Re: Powered USB hub and devices connected to it no longer functioning after update
I just spent a few hours playing with an 8BitDo wireless adaptor plugged into my hub and a PS5 controller and didn't see any random sluggishness. I actually cracked out a few good scores in some games. Typing on the keyboard also feels perfectly responsive. This was on release_20210906 with usbcore.autosuspend=-1 If you look at the fast polling scr...

usbcore.autosuspend=-1 also fixed my issues.
My main SD card had a u-boot.txt that contained
v=loglevel=4 usbhid.jspoll=1 xpad.cpoll=1
it did not work on release_20210906 but changing it to
v=loglevel=4 usbcore.autosuspend=-1 usbhid.jspoll=1 xpad.cpoll=1
seems to have made the hub work.

Log level 4 also stops my hub working. I booted the card I replaced zImage_dtb with the build paulbnl supplied and the keyboard was working fine with log level 9. I changed the log level to 4 and reboot via the menu and the keyboard still worked but it did not work after a power cycle.

No. I tried a custom kernal built by paulbnl in another thread for debugging the issue and that worked.

Re: USB Hub Broken After Last Update
You should put the SD card in a Windows machine and run the installer, boot+files option in the installer copies Linux and Mister to the SD card and leaves the rest of your installation alone.
You have probably reverted back to the default root password which is 1. Try and connect with root and password 1.

Re: USB Hub Broken After Last Update
To rollback pick an older build from here
https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SD-Inst ... n64_MiSTer
Try release_20210711. Choose boot+files to leave your games intact and roll back to the older version of Linux and Mister.

Re: Recent Linux Update Caused Issues With Input Devices
I have 6 hubs here, 3 are the same two port OTG micro USB 2 hub, none work on the latest version all work on a downgrade. A cheap 4 port USB 2 hub, doesn't work on latest does on downgrade. I have a 3 port USB 3 hub with ethernet works on upgrade. Cheap 4 port USB 3 hub works on upgrade. So it seems my USB 3 hubs work and my USB 2 hubs don't.

I just tried another cheap 4 port hub I have in the cupboard, same thing. It gets power to my devices but MiSTer doesn't recognise them. Works on a downgrade.

The hub works fine when I downgrade, I have 3 of them. They are a generic micro USB OTG two port hub that looks like this.
