Check the commits and you see what you are missing when you never update the kernal.

Looks like it may be worth updating, cheers.

You get the Linux update automatically via update_all.script.

Is it important to keep Linux up to date on MiSTer? I only update the Main MiSTer and the individual cores via FTP, so am I missing anything by not updating Linux?

Hi no it doesn't , you need the Virtua gun and the Saturn SNAC adaptor.

Cool, thank you

Re: NiGHTS into Dreams: Score Attack

Nights for GBA is a Multiboot game. Multiboot refers to GBA's function allowing console without a cartridge to download data into RAM over multiplayer cable and launch from RAM directly. Since MiSTer's GBA core does not allow launching Multiboot software directly, you have to convert it into a proper cartridge image. I've used a program called Mul...

Yes it is but it is going to be a challenge to add save states without modifying the original code too much.

I can confirm that it works with a DE10-Nano in a MiSTer MultiSystem and a MiSTer Pi.

paulbnl wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 11:44 am

There are no limitations except for the save states. No save states with special chips for now.

Does the implementation of save states for special chip games seem plausible for you?

Give it time. Console wize, we're getting close to hitting a wall soon, so I'm confident that we'll get save states in the Big 3 (SNES/Gen/PCE) this year if not the next one.

Here is your chance to help test the feature. You will need the attached SNES core and then load the savestates.bin file with "Load SS bin" before loading a game. This only needs to be done once.

Once per session or once per game?

Re: Do we have Virtua Gun/Stunner support with SNAC?

Looks like Saturn unstable build (20240929_15da53) fixes Stunner (light gun) compatibility with SNAC. I already posted a message on Blue212's Github, but I'll also ask my question here: Do you know if this will work with 2 Stunners (2 players Virtua Cop or HotD) using SNAC V2 AKA: SNAX? I'm asking because I do not own SNAX and I want to make sure b...

This is just discord's own way of enforcing the highest security setting, which drastically reduces the number of spammers, bots, and the ability for people to repeatedly harass others on the server. As it is a publicly listed server these things are legitimate concerns for us. We have the ability to manually verify people past this, and are usual...

Re: MiSTer Pi

Yes. I've done that, in fact. Bridge the 5th and 6th pin on the outside with a jumper (pins 10+12) to tell the board that the analog addon board is installed. Pins 1, 3 and 5 are the LEDs (the resistors are even preinstalled already), pins 13, 15 and 17 are the buttons. Install a wire from each of those pins to the "Ext. Button/Ext. LED"...

Unable to play in 4:3 on my QLED

So I've setup my new MiSTer Pi on my QLED and I used MiSTer Remote to configure the settings. When I used these video settings, the games are stretched:

EDIT: OK, found the right setting, needed to "Integer Scale Only".
