Actually, it seems it isn't just anteater, am I just expecting different behavior from that option than was intended?

Anteater wrong orientation option
It seems the orientation option is backwards, when you choose vertical, it is horizontal and vice versa.

We really need to get on the ball, contributing to this list, I went through and changed the status on quite a few games that have been working for almost a month, now, but, were never updated.

Re: How and where to use Driver files for ao486_20200814
A bigger problem in Windows though, is that it sees it as a Network drive... or at least I think that is the issue. MisterFS is actually a slightly modified version of EtherDFS (Ethernet DOS File System), and, is a network shared folder, or, network drive, as you say. If configured, properly, you could actually put DOS system files in that folder,...

Any of the sega titles able to run on DOS? VF1/2,HotD, OR VR? See that "Pentium" sticker on top of the image you just posted? You have your answer  They may very well run on DOS even if they need a Pentium. They probably won't run though, at least not playable, on ao486 🤣! More importantly, see that MMX sticker? definite no.

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
I need help. I've updated Main and the ao486 core to try the new features, but it doesn't work at all for me: - The monitor goes to sleep mode. - On the MiSTer, all three LEDs go off and the Reset (or any other) button does nothing. Pressing Ctrl+Shift+Alt+AltGr does nothing either. - I can however still access the MiSTer via SSH, so I can type in...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Maybe it's something to do with me having activated the VGA scaler in order to be able to use filters. If this had the internal filters I'd just use HQ2X. This monitor is prety damn robust when it comes to displaying signals (I did have it set for 1600x1200@60 over VGA but the ao486 core looks nicer with 800x600). It's the HP LP2065 monitor. Unfor...

Are the beta cores assigning a joystick even when one is not connected? I'm trying to run a game that I'm pretty sure has keyboard support but it goes to a joystick calibration screen that I cant get past. Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
If you plan to use anything before win95 (like MSDOS 6.22, possibly, freedos, too, I haven't tested, yet), you will need to format the vhd with a boot disk, for that OS, on the MiSTer, before mounting it in Windows, because the version of FAT16 used to format FAT16 drives in Windows 10, for example, is a newer version, and, MSDOS 6.22 will not reco...

Windows drivers have been added to the repo, as well as the video BIOS we have been using, it is the same BIOS, so, if you are already using it, no need to replace it, and, if you aren't already using it, make sure to rename it to boot1.rom. (it's currently named boot1_et4k.rom)

Re: Why OpenCore Plus UART?
Would it be possible to make the uart bios replaceable, like the system and video bioses? That way, the current one could be used, by most people, but, the possibility to use the old one would be available, without needing the more expensive dev tools to compile. I also wonder if this would work for other components that have bios files, available,...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Just wanted to say how much I am in awe and admiration for the hard work done on the ao486 core. As far as I can tell, the original code base was partly autogenerated and isn't particularly easy to read - well, at least I find it hard to read, but then again my FPGA background is purely a hobbyist one. I find it absolutely astonishing that you guy...

Sorry, I somehow included an old MiSTer file and not the most current one I had just built... fixed.... I just redownloaded 34, and, it's the same. First time trying to bring a new (read: git tip) build up off the ground - using boot0.rom from git dev branch and boot1.rom both from git dev and from the ET4000, in all cases I get the following (from an otherwise-working vhd and unchanged config from the latest official ao486 release): - Proper video BIOS ID string (either 2MB from Tseng Labs o...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
I would stick to 33, the changes in 34 that most likely cause the hangs have to do with disk i/o and could possibly mess up your HDDs without the proper changes in the new Mister file. I'd wait until a fix is added to the dev repo.
The Mister executable, included with cache33 is the same one for most of the cache releases, up until cache34.

I've been trying out Jagged Alliance 2 (GOG version) on these dev cores, on Win98 and DirectX 6. I think since 27 the game has worked without any graphical glitches, but the framerate is about 2 fps even in the menus. Also the music is breaking up. When you play the actual game, it seems that the voice samples play without any glitches, but still ...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
I'm not 100% sure about this, but, I think the shared_folder feature has had some support added, in a newer dev commit, so, cache29 might make that feature usable, but, don't quote me on this. :) Edit: looks like it will require a new program, called MisterFS.exe to be run, for DOS, at least, and will be included in the releases folder of the dev b...
