Re: Dual RAM Testing?

If you have concerns just test each SDRAM stick individually using the MemTest core, in the Utility folder. You will physically need to swap the sticks over onto the primary 40 pin header.

Re: 128MB SDRAM v3.0 unstable

Capacitors will not make a huge difference if your having hard crashes in cores, run the memtest core on each individual chip on the SDRAM board, my guess is one will be faulty.

10V rated capacitors will be fine.

Can a Noctua 5V Fan reduced to 3.3V or doesn't it turn on?

Yes, the 5 Volt Noctua starts and spins fine on 3.3 Volts.

From the pictures either type will work they are just open and closed tops for the jumper/shunt, that is the only difference.

Re: Saturn Core Hardware issue? SDRAM?

What speed does the RAM actually run at? Is that core dependent? Is there a place to set max RAM speed? Down clocking is a normal operation with the SDRAM test core this is how the SDRAM test core can ascertain the highest stable MHz frequency the memory performs at. The MHz speed requirement varies per core, see here: https://github.com/MiSTer-de...

Re: Saturn Core Hardware issue? SDRAM?

Based upon your test data your memory is working. The last row of your test results are the number of fails, all test are all showing zero fails. You certainly don't need to test for any longer than an hour. Remember the Saturn core is still very much a work in progress see here for the recent changes: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Saturn_MiSTer/...

Re: Many Cores Suddenly Not Working?

The memory is connected via a 40 pin header on the DE10-Nano, the SDRAM memory module will move as in rock backwards and forwards, as it is not connected like PC DDR memory. I recommend you remove the SDRAM module and reseat a few times it on the 40 pin header as it may well just be a poor contact with one of the forked pins inside the SDRAM connec...

I don't know how long it's supposed to run. If an hour isn't enough.

The SDRAM test core has no end it will run for as long as you leave it, however an hour is plenty for testing purposes.

Post a screen capture of the memory test core after runnning for half an hour into the thread.
