Re: N64 Core Possibility? (Update! Robert Is Working On This Core!)

It's worth noting that the N64's MIPS R4300i CPU contained about 1.7 million transistors, over 10x the logic elements in DE-10 Nano's FPGA (110,000), and the RSP transistor count is 2.6 million. There are undoubtedly some optimizations that can and have been made but it may never be possible to fully emulate the N64 at full speed on this hardware....

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I'm having the same issue. I have "MiSTer_unstable_20230413_21c1d8" renamed as "MiSTer" in my /media/fat root directory. When I run the latest 2 Saturn builds (20230410 and 20230415), after I run a cue file, it boots to the CD-Player screen after "Checking disc format". Does it with every image I have. The 22.12.01 bu...

Re: UltimateMiSTer.com

I had a very smooth experience purchasing from UltimateMiSTer. Shipping only took a week to arrive in the US, and everything was very carefully packaged. The quality looks very high and everything seems well thought out. Thanks Ricardo!

Re: UltimateMiSTer.com

Any idea when the "Official MiSTer Case with Hub 2.1 and ADC" will be back in stock? (in either black or black & white) Also, if I already have a working MiSTer setup with de10-nano with stock power supply, heatsink, 128MB sdram, and the digital I/O board v1.2, is there anything I'd need to do this build? Just 1/2 hour to assemble th...

Re: RetroUSB SNES to USB Adapter buttons not recognized properly

Not sure if something changed on the MiSTer side, but I've been using the RetroUSB SNES to USB adapter to connect a OEM SNES controller to my MiSTer for the past four months and it has worked flawlessly. I didn't have to do anything special.

This is the one I have: https://www.retrousb.com/product_info.p ... ucts_id=29

Here's what I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFL8TM8
It's unfortunately out of stock at the moment, but it was less than half the price of the Lindy adapter at only $8

memtest video sync issues with direct video

I recently hooked a second MiSTer setup I had to my PVM-14L5 using direct video with the following setup: HDMI to VGA adapter (claims to have AG6200 chip, but I haven't verified) VGA HD-15 to 5 BNC RGB cable (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=566) I have the grey cable hooked up to the PVM's sync port and black is not used Then in mister.ini I...

Re: A case for 5x vertical crop in 1080p mode.

I like playing NES with cropped 6x by 5x, so another +1 from me. It's super sharp, the image is large, and there's no weird scrolling or shimmering issues. Plus it pretty closely matches what was cut off in overscan on a CRT.

Gauntlet, Gauntlet II and Vindicators II

Alex (d18c7db) has a mostly complete FPGA implementation of Gauntlet, Gauntlet II and Vindicators II:
https://github.com/d18c7db/Gauntlet_FPGA

I don't know how easily this would port to MiSTer but wanted to bring up the potential porting opportunity.
