Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released
Just realized my script was posted here already, sorry for the double post. I did a few updates today to the script. Choose where _DOS Games should be located An option to always update the mgl files from scratch (since they seem to change sometimes as well) Caution with this one.. Delete all files that are not mentioned in the mgl (I had img, cue...

In principle could light gun arcade games be played on the CRT via the PC? That would be huge!

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core
This core is brilliant! Finding a good graphic card that will do 240p is such a hassle. Using MiSTer to display the video makes things so much easier. :) I have both a SD CRT as well as an HD one that can do 480p. I wonder if this core might also be capable of outputting 480p and possibly even adding scanlines so that it could also be used for the...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core
Spent an hour or so playing games like Chase HQ and Space Harrier with the audio routed via my HDMI switch, which has stereo out, to the speakers I use for my main MiSTer and video out via the MiSTer to my BVM. I have a separate MiSTer connected to a VGA monitor via direct video and it would be a very cool to use that MiSTer for 31khz games from S...

Re: X68000 Beta - Updates and Releases
My understanding is that latest build from the core developer is missing the video changes made by Kintrix so reverts back to 31khz only. It’s a shame but the solution is to to use an older build.

Re: Can Somebody Talk Me Through Guncon Setup Please?
It took me ages to get it working. I'm using RGB via component into a BVM montior and switched from tapping the green signal input to the h/v sync input. I'll see if I can document the steps I took to get it working tomorrow. I even bought the Guncon 3 out of frustration at one point!

Re: Buttons Not Working Certain Games
I've had problems with a dance mat and the symptoms sound very similar. The dance mat is set up in the menu core and the PSX core. The mat can be used to navigate game menus (tested with DDR dance games and RTypes) but in game nada. Very odd!

Anybody revisiting this thread I got these settings working well on my LG OLED C7 with game mode set to 4:3:

vsync_adjust=2
vscale_mode=5

Re: Forced Line Doubling on Only One Output?
I had two MiSTer.ini files one configured for the BVM (analog out) and another for the PC CRT (HDMI to VGA). And switched between them within the menu depending on the monitor being used (there is also a keyboard shortcut). I've attached the two ini files one for BVM and one for the PC CRT they have the extension "doc". Name one of them &...

Re: Forced Line Doubling on Only One Output?
I have the exact same setup. I used separate ini files for each screen depending on the game being played. In the end I bought an extra MiSTer which simplified things a lot.

Re: MiSTer Favorites - Menu Shortcuts for Your Cores and Games
Hi Wizzo, Thanks for putting this script together. Is it possible to fast scroll through a games list when adding favourites? Thanks! You're welcome. I think so but it will require a custom GUI element and some free buttons. You mean like a pg up/pg down style thing right? Worst case I could add some buttons on the screen to skip pages. I'll check...

Re: Minimig: Internet connection no longer working via Miami Deluxe
For anyone who comes across this problem the issue was due to me having both wireless and wired internet plugged into the MiSTer! Once the wifi adapter was removed everything started working again. A very helpful and knowledgeable user on the Discord forum helped me out.

Re: Recommend X68000 settings for VGA PC CRT (31 khz)
I'd strongly recommend getting a high quality PC CRT for cores that support 31lhz video modes. Especially, X68000, Amiga (RTG modes), AO486 and Archimedes cores. In the end I purchased an additional MiSTer just for my PC CRT. The recent changes to MiSTer main to support cvt=CVT timing are a game changer for older PC CRTs that can support 1200p and ...

Stick with what you have unless you have a strong preference for 4:3 with no borders. Digital (HDMI) will be better when screen technology (LCD) is the same or similar.

Minimig: Internet connection no longer working via Miami Deluxe
Hi,
I've previously used Miami Deluxe on Workbench 3.2 to connect to the internet via the PPP connection. Tried it again this evening after a while but cannot get a connection. I'm stuck at "Configuring PPP Level LCP". Anybody else having an issue?
Thanks,
John

Re: Advice on AO486 video settings for Sony BVM 15khz monitor
The modelines from here work, but if you're using Direct Video you'd need to add an adapter to your chain which does H Sync stripping combining, like one of these VGA2SCART converters . Thanks @akeley. That makes perfect sense as I previously had these cores working with custom mode lines via an IO board and recently switched to HDMI / direct vide...

Thanks for responding. I understand that. But in theory it should be possible use the vga scaler to downscale the 31khz signal to a 15khz compatible signal.

Advice on AO486 video settings for Sony BVM 15khz monitor
Bit of a shot in the dark but any video mode recommendations for AO486 or X68000 cores on a 15khz Sony BVM?
I've tried a load of recommendations already posted on the forum but no joy.
My video chain is HDMI out -> HDMI to VGA Adapter -> VGA to BNC cable straight into the back of the BVM monitor.
Thanks!
John

Scanlines for TATE games on a PC CRT
Hi, I'm using these settings on my PC CRT (with HDMI to VGA adapter) to get a fantastic high resolution 1920x1200 signal to play vertical arcade games with the rotate option enabled: vga_scaler=1 direct_video=0 vscale_mode=2 video_mode=1920,1200,60,cvt Unfortunately, scanlines - via the video processing options - look pretty awful. Anyone got a sim...

So it was user error. I had forgot to run update all on the SD-card! Got it working now at 1920x1200 on the PC CRT with the cvt option and it looks great!

Re: cvt=CVT timing on Analog IO Board
Nope. I can only get the lower res none CVT modes to work over my Analog IO board.
Update - it maybe because this SD card hadn't been updated recently aka user error!
