Re: Would Love to See More Classic Arcade Cores

I know they wouldn't be easy, but I'd love to see some of the classic laserdisc games. Most or all of the chips already have FPGA implementations, and the games are very well documented--my M.A.C.H.3 cabinet still has its original service manual with complete circuit diagrams for the entire machine--but the video would need to be streamed from the...

Hi. Total noob at this. Please go easy on me. Followed the instructions on pixel cherry ninjas youtube video about setting this up. I get a error message when launching a game. Boot failed could not read the boot hard disk. Boot failed could not read the boot floppy disk.. fatal no more boot devices. I know I have some boot files but maybe I just h...

Re: TI 99/4a Core

CRT from Direct VIdeo should show the OSD even if the core isn't producing a video signal. CRT from the I/O board won't display the OSD if the core isn't producing a video signal and the TI99/4A core won't produce a video core if the system roms are missing and the cpu doesn't initialize the VDP. Once the system roms are setup in the hardware menu...

I haven't been able to get this core working for a while. It was working at one point but then stopped. When I start the core I just get a blank screen and nothing happens. The mister osd dosent come up either.

Re: Exidy Universal Game Board 2 core issues

The #Exidy Universal Game Board 2 core has finally landed for the MiSTer platform. Dive into 80s nostalgia with classic arcade hits like TARG, Spectar, Venture, Mouse Trap, and Pepper II! First of all thank-you for working on this board, I'm excited to be able to play these old favorite games on my system! I was testing these cores on my arcade CR...

Re: Donkey Kong: Walking Sound Hack?

So I'm really impressed how the audio is now for this Donkey Kong core. It was a long time coming but it's almost perfect. The only thing that needs to be addressed are the 'booms' it seems that when Kong pounces chest or when a barrel hits the oil drum at the bottom of the screen, the boom you are supposed to hear doesn't get played if Mario is wa...

RGB if your monitor has an input for it. YPbPr is 97% RGB and you wouldn't even notice a difference unless you use a magnifying glass.

Re: Donkey Kong: Walking Sound Hack?

I don't think I'd ever heard of it, but the one (1) TASVideos publication available does something like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RNmOz_NFtY Thank you, this is exactly what I meant. Nice to see it again after all these years. This trick can only be done on early revisions of the DK roms. You can also be on a ladder and the barrels won...

Re: Kung-Fu Master Core

I had some free time this weekend so I decided to take a look at the core and see if I can figure anything out. I came up with what I would call a hack job because I couldn't get enough information to do it the way the hardware does...even MAME does it a...different way. While looking into the core, I also noticed that sprites were off by a few li...

Re: Kung-Fu Master Core

This has been reported years ago. Once again another early 80's arcade game gets ignored after its released much like donkey Kong, tron, dk3, etc. Pretty sad since the mister prides itself on its 'accuracy'. These games including kung-fu master actually work better on the raspberry pi.

I could be mistaken, but splatterhouse runs on Namco System 1 hardware which also runs Pac-Mania, Galaga 88, Dragon Spirit and Cosmo Gang. Would love to see all of these on the mister. I'd like to see Cosmo Gang personally, but that game runs on the Namco System 2 board I believe. I stand corrected. But I did find a list of all the Namco system 1 ...

Re: MiSTerFPGA Y/C Out Module (Direct - S-Video / Composite Output) - Update

I'm getting black and white image for odyssey2 and Atari 7800 cores. No color, just black and white. Colecovision works fine but some homebrew games like Mappy only play black and white. I am using the latent update with SOG turned on. I'm using mister component cables plugged directly into my Commodore 1702 monitor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It seems there are plenty of people that want the numeric keypad so I wouldn't be surprised if 8bitdo released a deluxe version of this keyboard that would include it.

Re: Domesday Duplicator, Merlin, Lasercon, Arthur, Dexter... as a LASERDISC GAMES possibility?

The Domesday86 project is really awesome, hope that it picks up steam in the future so that more and more Laserdiscs can be preserved. I assume that someone has preserved at least some arcade games and Laseractive games by now. I don't think there's any software that can decode the Domesday rips in real time though. So they would need to be decode...

Also, PVMs can run both PAL and NTSC signals. Pretty handy if you want to run Commodore 64 and Commodore Amiga stuff.

Every device with RGBS input can do this. My 1084 runs both PAL and NTSC without issues.

I guess I should have been more specific. I meant consumer TVs would not be able to run both NTSC and PAL.

Re: Advice about PVMs

PVMs will always be king. I own 2 and the picture on them is amazing. However, I still think the current price for PVMs is way too much. I personally wouldn't pay more then $300 for one. On the flip side I think a higher end consumer CRT with component input can be just as good as a PVM. component video is about 95-98% of RGB. Stick to brands like ...
