Does a PS2 controller work with PSX core and SNAC?

Does anyone know if the PSX core work with a SNAC adapter and a PS2 controller as opposed to a standard PSX controller?

Thanks

Ok, that makes sense why one would go through the effort of converting to CDH.

Thanks all for explaining the PSX rom requirements to me

Re: Is There a Preferred ROM Set That Works Best with PSX Core?

The set was in BIN/CUE format so i had to convert it myself. There's a batch script available here on the forum i believe, for my own use i've written a frontend for CHDMAN (the utility needed for conversion) to convert cd images to CHD format. People can use it if they want to CHD UI page and CHDUI Compiled Hopefully it's of use to some. Thanks f...

Re: Is There a Preferred ROM Set That Works Best with PSX Core?

like Grizzly, i'm using the 1G1R set, sans the games i will never play anyway, converted them all to CHD and up till now haven't run into any issues. though there's so many, it could take some time untill a potential issue can show up. Did you have to convert it to CHD in order for it to work with the PSX core? What tool did you use to convert? Th...

Is There a Preferred ROM Set That Works Best with PSX Core?

Like the subject says, I'm not asking where to download or where to locate games/roms/etc.

Just curious to ask if there is a preferred romset/romdump that has been identified as working best with the PSX core?

Re: Where would the second ram module go on the digital IO board if/when required

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.. So I was correct in thinking the second RAM module would connect to the spare/unused GPIO header on the digital io board from my previous photo? In other words my board appears to be compatible? And I think the switch you're referring to is that SW3 switch, right? You're right though...probably not smart to i...

Where would the second ram module go on the digital IO board if/when required

Hello I bought a MISTer kit from MISTer Addons last Feb. Great site, everything is working fine. I ended up buying a MISTer with the digital IO board knowing I'd never connect it to an analog input TV/monitor. Given that the upcoming PSX/Saturn cores may require two RAM modules, where exactly on the IO board would the second RAM module connect to? ...

Outrun very loud white noise

Just curious if anyone else experiences very loud 'white noise' when playing Outrun world on SMS core?
Only seems to be an issue when FM Sound is enabled.

How do you map 'c' and 'z' on 6 button Genesis controller

I am trying to map an 8bitdo M30 2.4g 6 button Genesis style control. I'm going through the process in the MiSTer button mapping/definition process, however I am never prompted to assign C or Z buttons. The image presented on screen during the mapping process doesn't exactly look like a Sega controller either. How exactly would one map a 6 button G...

Re: NeoGeo roms fail to load, I see 000-lo.lo before going to blue screen

I was transferring files to the Mister using FileZilla. Transfer type in FileZilla defaults to 'Auto' but it apparently needs to be set to 'Binary'. Once I made this setting change, I was able to successfully load NeoGeo games on the MiSTer. Great success! ^^^ THIS!!!! Now I have great success too! I've been trying to get the NeoGeo core to run fo...

Re: NeoGeo roms fail to load, I see 000-lo.lo before going to blue screen

Something is different with your files. I have the Darksoft Neo Geo set, and when you zip up AOF2, it's 11.4MB, not 12.6MB. lEIGx7VkIF.png BTW, thanks for your help/feedback with this. I think the screen shot I had previously was not from the Darksoft set. I have since downloaded the Darksoft set but still seeing different file sizes. I think they...

Re: NeoGeo roms fail to load, I see 000-lo.lo before going to blue screen

stating the obvious here really, have you tried another bios file? or even another copy of the bios files you're using as they may not have d/loaded or transferred properly? Well I think that might be part of my issue. I recently installed the 'updater all' script and ran that to get the NeoGeo bios. However the script only loads 3 out of the 5 re...

Re: NeoGeo roms fail to load, I see 000-lo.lo before going to blue screen

Thanks. I ended up downloading another set of roms, a set I found via link on another forum. (It was a link to 'MiSTer neogeo bios/rom/rbf/September_2019' on archive dot org) I copied everthing over to the sd card except for the .rbf core file since it was outdated. This download did have a romsets.xml file, I was missing this file before. Though I...

NeoGeo roms fail to load, I see 000-lo.lo before going to blue screen

Hello all Recently acquired a preconfigured MiSTer from MiSTer addons. Was able to flash my SD and run the update script. I was also able to fire up a few cores and run some roms (ex SNES) so all that seems to be good. I am running into an issue w/ NeoGeo though, which is actually my main motivation for using a MiSTer. No matter what game I try to ...

question about picking up a pre-configured bundle at misteraddons

Hello all. New to the MiSTer. I plan on purchasing a per-configured bundle from misteraddons this week. Before I do, I was looking to get some feedback on a few points. I plan on playing this primarily on a modern TV. I don't really see myself using a CRT. In that sense should I stick w/ the Digital IO? What could one do by having an extra GIPO ava...
