The core's floppy controller I believe would be replaced by this so shouldn't matter

Re: Real Floppy Drive

It would need to replace the core's floppy controller but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

If it works on an emulator, it should actually work better with the amiga core (no host system with timing constraints).

I wondered if this had been noticed over here :)

Oh, and that argh ao486 note: density select pin is not needed for that. It should work both for DD and HD disks in DOS. Sorry, not trying to be nitpick.. but just to discover something every day: back in the day, I thought this PIN was needed to format a DD 360K 5"1/4 floppy disk inside a HD 1,2M floppy drive. Could you possibly look to get some of the floppy controller improvements merged?

There's no reason they shouldn't be if they achieve more accurate behaviour.

Re: Ok let's talk seriously about a MiSTer handheld...

I think this is the exact LCD I was looking at :) The MIPI board should have very low latency as the driver IC is used widely in VR headsets. Shame you didn't test the Gameboy core, I'd have been interested to see that but I believe this is the exact same panel Analog are using for their pocket. Either way I'll be acquiring one of these for testing...

Re: Ok let's talk seriously about a MiSTer handheld...

Ultimately, if I were to invest in a MiSTer handheld, I would want it to be in the dream resolution of 1600x1440 resolution like the analogue pocket. That is only a 3.5" display, but I personally think that's big enough for a handheld and more space could be dedicated to front-facing stereo speakers. This display is available on AliExpress he...

is there a vga -> composite cable that I can use on mister? I have a tv with svideo here but since there is no native support fot it, I would like at least to use composite cable, in order not to use those crappy rca converters and create input lag This might be what your looking for ;) https://misterbits.fwscart.com/product_preview/p7501893_20714...

Re: Total newbie trying to get CRT TV to work

Hey there! And welcome! There are some settings that we can try, but please be aware that it may not be possible to get your MiSTer to work with your CRT. I have 3 CRTs and only 1 works flawlessly; one of the others doesn't even display the menu core for more than a second; the third kind of works sometimes, depending on how bright things get. It'...

When you say, "will allow you to plug any Guncon/G-Con45 compatible gun on any system with a CRT screen.". Does that mean any model of Guncon or just Guncon model 1s? Yes the G-Con45 is the model 1  For now it will be focusing on this model yes, but I might try other guns eventually once this one is fully supported. Surely gcon2...

Thinking aloud, would it be possible to use this work as the basis for improving the disk activity light to reflect MOTOR_ON as it does in the Amiga - rather than DMA_ON which is what it does now if I understand correctly - and secondly to pass more signals back up to the ARM side with a view to adding in floppy sounds? Re: Input/Output model for Arcade games

Has anyone considered doing RS485 JVS over the SNAC port? Before anyone else jumps on your for that, it's the User I/O port. SNAC is the name of a peripheral made for it :) If the original core supported JVS it would certainly be a potential option, though if not (and I'm going to assume this covers all cores at present), the JVS layer would need ...

I've not found a use for it other than soft reset.

To be frank, I think 3 buttons is a bit pointless, the main MiSTer reset button doesn't get much use from me except when I accidently press it thinking it's soft reset.

Could be wrong about both of those though. I've not tried it on every single core.

It's definitely your TV. These older trinitrons suffer with this quite a lot.
