Re: Is My MiSTer Dead?
Confirmed all switches are in the right positions. I'm not able to connect via WinSCP nor Cyberduck. I also don't think it's my power supply as: the board boots the default Linux image just fine Mr. Fusion boots and expands as expected The PSU is outputting 5v on my multimeter So I'm still leaning towards bad board. TerasIC wants me to go thru some...

Re: Is My MiSTer Dead?
The DE10 is unlikely to be broken, unless you've plugged something in wrong. It's very robust in normal use. The failure is likely something ancillary to the central board. As I mentioned, everything was working fine prior. It just hadn't been used in a few weeks due to being busy during the holidays. MiSTer still fails to boot even when it's just...

Re: Is My MiSTer Dead?
Someone else can answer this definitively, but a 5V 2A power supply doesn't seem like enough to power both the DE10-nano and a powered hub, depending on what you plug into the hub. All I ever have plugged in is my controller and WiFi dongle. Been flawless up until now. If someone north of Los Angeles has a 5V 4A supply for me to try out I'd be hap...

Re: Is My MiSTer Dead?
I edited the post after I made it because I noticed what you said about the hub not working. What were you using as a power supply? And was it powering both the hub and the DE10-nano? Yeah just using the stock power supply with the splitter from MiSTer Addons. I don't have another PSU to test with. But since the board boots with Linux I'm assuming...

Yeah I've tried multiple SD cards and get the same results.

Is My MiSTer Dead?
Help! My MiSTer was working fine a few weeks ago. Didn't play it over the holidays. Went to fire it up last night and... nothing. The blue 3.3v LED, the orange CONF_D LED stay on, the green LEDs by the ethernet port pulsate, and the green USERLED is faintly lit. I did some research here and saw that people have had similar problems, ranging from co...

Re: MGL Files With the NeoGeo Core?
A little late to the party but this works for me. My games are stored on my SD card, so you'll need to adjust the pathing if your structure is different. <mistergamedescription> <rbf>_console/neogeo</rbf> <file delay="1" type="f" index="1" path="../../../../media/fat/games/NeoGeo/mslug"/> </mistergamedescript...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers
...Like, it's hard to find a very flexible HDMI cable that is well build. I used the CYFPV HDMI connectors for running my internal HDMI cables. They're available in a 90 degree orientation so they don't take up any horizontal space, and they connect with a flexible ribbon cable. They're available on Amazon for not much money. Seemed like a better ...

a nice little cutout for an i2c OLED screen (so I can see the title art that I've spent waaaaaay to much time making!) Is there a guide for how to do this? Thats really cool. No guide per se. Re: MiSTer Wallpapers
Here are a few that I made. The original image is from a Tweet from the official MiSTer Twitter account (@MiSTerFPGABot). I dunno whether the artwork is from a game or if it's original, but I liked it and wanted to use it for my own wallpaper. I couldn't find a clean version of it anywhere; just a heavily-compressed JPG on Google. I took that JPG a...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers
This is about my 7th round of designing a case, but I'm finally getting something together. Four controller ports up front, with OSD/Menu/Reset buttons, and a nice little cutout for an i2c OLED screen (so I can see the title art that I've spent waaaaaay to much time making!). The back has ports for ethernet, HDMI, additional USB, power-in and a pow...

The i2c2oled Pictures got moved into their own repo awhile back and are now located here: https://github.com/venice1200/MiSTer_i2c2oled_Pictures this is the one you will need to fork, the main repo is just for code / info at this point. Fantastic job with the pictures btw! Thanks! I'm glad to be able to contribute in some small part to this commun...

Re: i2c2oled (little brother of tty2oled)
Confirmed everything works for my 1106 and 1306 (one-color and two-color) OLEDs. Unfortunately I don't have a 1309 screen but I'm assuming that's well-tested on your end. Thanks so much for the work!

Re: i2c2oled (little brother of tty2oled)
You know what, I was wrong. I didn't have the onecolor option set to yes. I changed it, made sure all my pix were in the PRI_Onecolor folder, and now the loading screen shows correctly.
Much thanks for making this happen!

Re: i2c2oled (little brother of tty2oled)
So far so good! Ran through a handful if images and everything loads as it should. The larger screen, despite being the same resolution, really adds some clarity to the images. I did have to change the loadY to 4 instead of 5 to have the loading icons line up properly (I'm using loading animation #2), but obviously that's not a big deal. 20220519_2...

Re: I Miss That C Button
A little late to the party here but the 3-button controllers that come with the Sega Genesis Mini work just fine. They're USB so they plug right in, and they feel great and are recognized without any hassle. Just do the regular controller setup for the menu and the core and you're good to go. I use Start+B to bring up the OSD. I also tried the Retr...

Re: i2c2oled (little brother of tty2oled)
As I wrote above, it is possible that the display needs another init sequence, hopefully I can use the other functions without bigger modifications. And, if I remember correctly, the ssh1106 has a little bigger display memory which need an offset if you set the display pointer to draw something. I will start working on this if i get my ssh1106. Co...

Re: i2c2oled (little brother of tty2oled)
Here's what I get with my new SSH1106 OLED. I'm using your most current INI. The same basic distortion happens across all the different screens (intro, menu, loading, core pix, etc.) I ordered two screens and tested both of them and go the same result, so it's not a problem with the screens. Any ideas?

Cool, thanks for this! SSH1106 displays are readily available on Amazon. I've ordered this one to try out with your updated script:
https://amzn.to/37MRBNs
Two screens for $15 works out for me since I have an MT32-pi setup in my case as well. Is it not as easy to have one shipped to Germany from Amazon?

Nice work. Definitely share! If someone likes to use the pictures, add them to your PRI folder. I will see how I can integrate them into the setup. I created a repo for my images here: https://github.com/aeronius/MiSTer_Pix. Let me know if there's anything you need me to do as I'm not super familiar with Git. Re: i2c2oled (little brother of tty2oled)
I've started making a collection in a slightly different style. It's based around using a one-color display to maximize the available real estate for the artwork. I've recreated all the artwork pixel-by-pixel instead of just scaling art down to fit. I've also employed some dithering to add a psuedo gray tone. I think it looks pretty neat and gives ...

MT32 Direct Wiring from Pi Zero 2 to DE10
Apologies if this has been answered. I know it's been asked but I didn't see a concrete answer anywhere. Anyhow I'm adding an mt32 Pi to my MISTer setup. I have a Pi Zero 2 on the way from Pimoroni and am trying to figure out how to hook it up to the DE10 directly as I don't use an IO board. I'm rubbish at reading schematics but can read a diagram ...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers
Just got my MiSTer set up so it's still rockin' the naked look, but I'm working on designing a custom case for it. Here's the first test cut off the CNC for the front panel. Still a few tweaks to make to the machining and I need to figure out fixturing so I can machine the other side (which will clear out the through-holes). I'm going for a N64-sty...
