Re: tty2oled Software Add-On with USB/SD Support (Show Text/Pictures based on loaded Core on Display)
I'd a similar issue some days ago after finishing and testing my MiSTer-AjSTer setup. 'till finishing up the whole setup (including mt32-pi by USB cable via user port and tty2oled) I've used a MeanWell GST40A05-P1J power supply and this was working fine. But after completing the setup with the official USB hub (Y-cable from power supply to MiSTer ...

Re: tty2oled Software Add-On with USB/SD Support (Show Text/Pictures based on loaded Core on Display)
I've been observing some strange interactions between my tty2oled and other hardware in my MiSTer setup recently and after chatting about it on the discord it was suggested I post about it here. MiSTer Configuration: 128MB RAM Digital IO board v1.2 USB Hub v2.1 - K400+ keyboard dongle - bluetooth dongle - 2.4GHz M30 controller dongle - tty2oled (TT...

Re: Is CD+G possible?
Yeah, did an update_all before I tried it. Weird, I’ll try again later. *edit* Yeah, update_all.sh wasn't running properly. I usually start it off and go do something more interesting while it runs :) Turns out that update.sh was abending as some ssl certs were out of date, so I had to run security.sh to fix those. Now everything's up to date and I...

Re: Is CD+G possible?
Hi folks, I'm curious to see these running. I've grabbed some CD+G CHD files (linked from this thread) and loaded them up in the MegaCD core in MiSTer. I get music but no graphics, even after selecting the CD+G option in the CD player app. Am I missing something? The MegaCD BIOS version appears to default to is a Japanese v2.00, so I'm guessing &qu...

Re: 2.4GHz & 5GHz WiFi Adapter
A little off-topic, but if your microwave is leaking badly enough to disconnect your 2.4GHz clients it may be time to buy a new microwave! I had this problem with my last oven, manifesting in the Echo in my kitchen stopping playing radio/music whenever I used it

I just wanted to say thank you for a really amazing project. I got all my parts in the post this morning, soldered it up and got it running in less than an hour. Really impressive stuff. I particularly like the transitions between graphics, it adds a little bit of shine to it.

Looks like your driver module is compiled for a different kernel version.

Re: MiSTer IO Board doesn't fit DE-10
Yeah, that plastic header definitely shouldn't be there on the IO board. It's standard for it to be there on pin headers that buy for building kit yourself, but shouldn't be there on a MiSTer IO board. Does it work as it is? If so I'd be tempted to add some spacers between the brass stand offs and the IO board to give it some extra support and leav...

Re: Need Help with WiFi Adapter
Reposting from Discord in case anyone else has a similar issue: I dumped a list of all the USB device IDs supported by the drivers compiled in to MiSTer's kernel a while back. Your's isn't listed there so it won't be associated with a driver: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=407 You'll also see in that thread that I can't recommend using an R...

Re: HDMI CEC and the MiSTer.
The CEC blocker adapters are essential if you're having ARC issues with your MiSTer and AV system. There's enough back-voltage from the TV to my MiSTer that, even with the PSU disconnected from the MiSTer, the MiSTer gets enough power to partially operate some components and messes up the ARC/HDMI signalling and somehow blocks audio from the TV to ...

Re: Reset MiSTer using a USB controller button combination?
Thank you for your reply, WiteWulf. I had already found this post before asking. However, the reset shortcut listed there does not apply to the controller, only to the keyboard: LShift+LCtrl+LAlt+RAlt - MiSTer full reset (goes back to menu core), same as IO board button Does anyone know if this is possible using a USB controller? Sorry, I misinter...

Re: Reset MiSTer using a USB controller button combination?
It's also possible to wire you own reset button without having an IO board. Pretty much everything but the VGA output of the analogue IO board can be access directly via the GPIO pins on the DE10-nano mainboard:

There's resetting the core and resetting the MiSTer, which are different things.

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
The mister process typically uses ~100% of one CPU core on the HPS side. That can vary, depending on what it's doing, but input polling and disk IO are very processor intensive. This is in part due to Sorg never intending anything else to be running and has caused problems in the network throughout testing that I did for loading large disc images o...

Re: Recommended WiFi Dongles
I looked through the Linux-Kernel_MiSTer/drivers/net/wireless folder structure to try and get a better idea of what's supported in the MiSTer linux kernel. This is in no way a guarantee that a wifi adapter that matches any of this will work, but should help inform you as to whether it *might* work. NB. this is only valid for the MiSTer release 2103...

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat
Where's the "noise" coming from? The mt32pi should be sending it's audio output back to the MiSTer over the USB cable, and MiSTer mixes that into it's regular audio output via HDMI or whatever you're using on your IO board. You've got an IO board and the MT32pi connected to the User IO port that *looks* like a USB port (but isn't), haven'...

Re: Bluetooth Headphones & MiSTer
Because *most* Bluetooth headphones incur about 0.5-1.5 seconds delay between the audio being sent and it being played back on the destination device. If you're listening to music you'll never notice this as it doesn't need to be in sync with any video on your screen. But if you're watching TV or a movie on your device you'll soon notice that the a...

Thanks guys. It's not the big MiSTer logo I'm looking for, it's the little labels for the ports, buttons and lights. I like the typeface on the ones I have and would like similar ones to match, or a complete new set.

Looking For MiSTer Case Labels
Does anyone know where I might buy a set of stickers/decals/labels for the outside of my MiSTer case? Some of mine are wrong (I've got a digital IO card and this has labels for analogue ports) and some are missing (when left running for a while the heat seems to loosen the glue on the ones on top and I've lost the Reset/OSD/User buttons label). The...

Re: Old article regarding FPGA Pentium
To try and put into perspective: the 486SX which we have in ao486 uses 1.2 million transistors, the 486DX (with FPU) has 1.85 million transistors, and the first P60 Pentiums (basically two 486DXs on a die) had 3.1 million transistors. And as dshadoff has pointed out, the current ao486 core is a tight squeeze!
