Re: King of Monsters

I don't think it's a matter of performance, just the (odd) way how scrolling was implemented for KotM. Don't know which other NG games have similar scrolling issues, since I mostly play them on CRTs. The RT5x is able to compensate this specific scrolling behaviour. I don't know how this technically works. But I would like to know, if the behavior o...

Re: King of Monsters

Scrolling is fine on CRTs (of course). This is the way those games should be played anyway. However. I did some more testing with AES hardware and scalers. It looks like the RetroTink 5x Pro is able to handle the (odd) scrolling of KotM, with Horizontal Sampling > Preset > NEOGEO 320. There's no "scroll jumping" at the edges, it...

You can change it in the video options.

However, scrolling is a lot smoother on original hardware (even though it scrolls in chunks). Seems to be MiSTer specific.

I have it running along with Geoworks 2.0 and Windows 3.1 on one of my MiSTers. Just for nostalgic reasons. I was a big fan of Geoworks at the time.

Re: Could Someone Help Me Reversing What This Script Does Please?

There are 3 scripts in the zip file here https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=49700#p49700. network_ip_dhcp.sh (config eth0 and wlan0 with dhcp) network_ip_static_eth0.sh (config eth0 with static ip) network_ip_static_wlan0.sh (config wlan0 with static ip) Setting up static ip for both would require to configure the routing table (the script does...

Re: MiSTer Downloader Tool

I had an issue with "update_all" on one of my MiSTers. The script always terminated with a "No internet connection" error message. The problem was a "bad" ssl cert, caused by a linux update (the internet connection was fine). I saw a "curl" error 77 when running the downloaded script by "update_all"...

Re: Setting Up A Static IP Address

Each wifi adapter has it‘s own unique mac (hardware) address. There is no need to change it.

The mac address for eth0 is by default the same for every MiSTer. This is a problem if you have more than one MiSTer in your network. In this case, you can assign your own unique mac address.

Re: Advice about PVMs

I own a 21" PVM and a number of consumer CRTs. My favourites are 4:3 flat screen Trinitrons.

I use the PVM just for vertical games, since it's easy to tate.

Re: Full Screen on Game Gear for CRT (240p/480i)

The SMS June update introduced a new GG "Extended" resolution option. https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=54164#p54164 Works great on CRT and flat screens with some caveats: Some screens are not extended and might have a garbled background, like the start screen of "Land of Illusions" Some screens are not extended and have sc...

One of my 1st PSX games was Gunners Heaven. Has aged well. And of course Dragon Warrior VII.

Re: Setting Up A Static IP Address

I use a couple of shell scripts to set static (and dhcp) ip and mac address. Just change the variables in the script for your network setup and run it on the linux shell. It sometimes works from the MiSTer menu, but most of the time /etc is not writeable. What it does: - setup /etc/network/interfaces - setup dns server - disable (or enable) dhcp cl...

Re: Memory Cards Now Working On the PlayStation Core

Now since sound works, time to play the 1st PSX game, Ridge Racer JAP.

If you want to try the black car, here's my memory card save from the 90s.
