Re: AmigaVision 2024.10.10 Released with Internet Support + MiSTer CD32 Launcher, 182 Game Updates

Incredible work as always! I especially love the new CD32 "core". :D Re: Internet, what am I doing wrong here? I selected "Go online" from the menu, then opened Miami. It had the "Configuring PPP level LDP Please Wait…" window up and then after a few seconds shows the error below… Miami error.jpg I've never used Miami...

Re: Is it possible to set multiple video_mode resolutions in the ini for RTG?

I'm not aware of a way in the way you ask, but you could use an (mgl) file to show an alias to the Amiga core under a different name, then use that alias to force the resolution you need. You'll keep the existing core as is and have a sandboxed version of the core alongside it. As you've got AmigaVision, there are some example mgl files you can loo...

Re: Can Second SD card Slot Hold An SD Card With ROMs?

Hi there, The second SD card is directly wired to the FPGA and is generally used as raw storage on some cores. You wouldn't be able to access any ROM files from it. You'd be better with a USB key or USB SSD (or USB HDD if you have a 5 volt power supply capable of 4 amps or more) to store your roms. MiSTer will even detect USB ROM storage and defaul...

Re: Dual RAM Testing?

I would have swore someone had a core for testing Dual RAM.

If the Saturn dual core works, why not run memtest to test your primary stick of RAM, turn off and switch the RAM sticks over, then run memtest again? That'll confirm the configuration and the memory.

Re: USB Hub Wiring Colors

Do you have a multimeter? My suggestion woud be to find ground/vcc on where you intend to solder from, then the wiring (usually) goes:

  • Ground
  • Data+
  • Data-
  • VCC

Without seeing the USB hub you plan to use, I can't suggest much more.

The majority of those sounds are clipped but I'm not sure if that's digital or analogue clipping.

What's your spec? Using a normal DE10 or one of the new clones?

I'm not aware of any way of configuring the system as you require, but you may be better off buying a few SD cards and having separate installations, only installing the cores you need for each use case?

Re: NAS vs SD vs HDD Speed

I know it's not in the title, but I've used an SSD for the longest time and never experienced any of these issues on the PlayStation core. Given an SSD has a significantly smaller random access time, I guess this helps to verify FPGAzumspass' latency suggestion?

Re: Minimig improvements? (Tentative discussion)

That's a hell of a utopia for FPGA Amiga!
I think really the next logical step would be to get the timings right on AGA/68020 (I think A500/68000 is already accurate) then expand on that.
Honestly though, while I appreciate any improvements, Minimig for me has just worked.

I'm on the waiting list for a Checkmate Display - a relatively new 4:3 monitor at 1280x1024. If I can get my hand son one, this will help a lot I'm the future and I'll look to see if I can get a 60Hz mode too.

So thanks for trying this and posting the results!

Dr Matt Regan - ZX Spectrum breadboard recreation

If any of you are interested, this guy has recreated a ZX Spectrum from scratch, replacing the ULA with lookup ROM and using all standard logic. He's made a few changes to allow VGA output too!

This is the final video, his channel goes into how he engineered his solution and well worth it.
