Re: Atari Lynx Core
In the GameBoy core I use boot1.rom for the BIOS and boot2.rom for the ROM to open, have you tried that? Good news/bad news on that. The good news is, boot1.rom/boot2.rom works; the ROM loads at startup time. The bad news is, whatever was happening before that fixed my picture when a ROM got loaded, it isn't happening anymore; I assume a core upda...

Re: Atari Lynx Core
Is there any way to get it to automatically launch a specific ROM when you open it? I have the same rolling picture issue with this core that I do with several others; opening a game fixes it, so I'd like to have it automatically load a game at start. (The boot.rom doesn't do it.)

Re: Rolling picture with YPbPr
My main guesses: - There's something inherently wrong with these composite-oriented consoles sending a proper h-blank v-blank signal over component. A good way to test this would be with real Genesis or SNES hardware with component output on the same TV. Haven't had a chance to do this, sadly. I have. I've hooked up both a SNES and a Genesis (mode...

Re: Rolling picture with YPbPr
I still don't have a fix, but I found a workaround for Game Boy. For whatever reason, if I enable Super Game Boy and load Mega Man 5, it fixes the rolling picture -- and once it's loaded, I can switch games; other games work fine after that (even if I turn off SGB mode). So I just enable SGB and save my settings, then make MM5 my boot2.rom and now ...

Re: Rolling picture with YPbPr
Thanks Shogun, glad to hear that worked for you.
Unfortunately, no such luck here; I tried refresh_min=59, refresh_max=60 and it didn't change anything for me. The search continues...

Re: Wi-Fi not starting reliably
My experience is that wifi works on hard boot but not on a soft reboot. So if, for example, I run the update script and it reboots afterward, wifi no longer works until I power-cycle.

TP-Link TL-WN823N "Failed to bring up wlan0"
EDIT: Wifi is working now. Not sure what changed; I power-cycled a couple of times and left the system running for awhile. Don't know what I did to fix it, but just in case that helps anybody who has a similar issue I'll leave this up. -- Hello, I just bought this wifi dongle: TP-Link TL-WN823N N300 Mini USB Wireless WiFi network Adapter for pc, Id...

Re: Rolling picture with YPbPr
Thanks foldor, The SOG switch on my board isn't labeled with "off/on", it's labeled with "AUTO/OVR". I've got it set to OVR, which I think is the equivalent of "on"; if I set it to "AUTO" then the picture rolls all the time, not just some of the time. I've also updated my OP with more information, including (...

Re: MisterAddons.com / MiSTerFPGA.com
I'll just add my voice to the chorus: I bought my entire MiSTer assembly from misteraddons.com; it arrived quickly and works great. I expect to buy more accessories there in the future.

Re: Blank screen when I load the core
I had a similar issue and it was the FTP method I was using to transfer the Roms to the SD card. When I changed the transfer method to binary from auto it resolved the issue. Strangely enough it only happened on NeoGeo Roms. I suspect there was some filesystem corruption caused somewhere in the chain of microSD card -> SD card adapter -> card read...

Re: Blank screen when I load the core
It looks like it's the SD card. I tried another one and it works.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Blank screen when I load the MegaCD core
I tried the CDX BIOS to see if it gives me the same error as RuBEn. It doesn't; I just get the same blank screen as I do with the other BIOSs I've tried. (In case this tells anyone anything, the md5sum for the CDX BIOS I have is baca1df271d7c11fe50087c0358f4eb5) ETA: It looks like there's something wrong with the SD card; I tried another one and I'...

Re: Blank screen when I load the core
The rbf file is NeoGeo_20200510.rbf. I'm assuming 20200510 is the version? At any rate I just ran update.sh so it should be the latest.

Blank screen when I load the MegaCD core
Hi, This is similar to a problem I'm having with the NeoGeo core . Sorry for another post repeating a lot of the same information, but even though it's the same symptom I'm not sure if it's the same cause. I suspect a BIOS issue but I don't know for sure that's what's causing it. I haven't been able to get the MegaCD core to boot at all. I have the...

Blank screen when I load the core
Hi there, I haven't been able to get the NeoGeo core to boot at all. I have the 128MB SDRAM add-on (in case it helps there's more info on my setup in the thread I posted yesterday). When I try to boot the core, I get a completely blank screen and no inputs seem to work, including the reset button on the IO board. (The Linux environment is still run...

Rolling picture with YPbPr
Hello there! I'm new to MiSTer, and I'm having some trouble with the refresh rate when I boot some of the cores. I'm using an NTSC CRT TV with YPbPr inputs. (The brand is Magnavox; I'm not sure what model, but I can try to figure it out if that will help.) (ETA: I believe the model is 20MT4405/17. I haven't hauled the TV out to look at the sticker ...
