Re: SNK vs Cacom Super Plus - boot loop

There was a new mister main posted on the discord unstable-nightlies channel July 11th that said it added support for SVC Super Plus. You could try installing that and see if it is indeed working. Or wait for the next official mister main update to be released. https://github.com/MiSTer-unstable-nightlies/Main_MiSTer/releases/download/unstable-buil...

Re: Case suggestions for GRS Led Arcade Trackball?

I’ve used one of those GRS trackballs before in an Arcade1Up that I modded. I wasn’t very impressed with it. The ball doesn’t roll very smoothly and there isn’t enough weight behind it to really get it spinning.

Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?

It doesn’t appear in tag mode, only the Rumble mode when 6 wrestlers are on the screen at the same time. The Rumble match starts with 6 wrestlers in the ring so it is immediately noticeable.

Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?

I’m noticing some slowdown in the Rumble mode along with some occasional horizontal lines through the wrestler sprites. It’s been a loooong time since I played on an actual board, but I don’t remember either of those problems. I also watched some YouTube videos from the PCB and didn’t see it there either. Are these known issues? I don’t recall seei...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I had been struggling with audio dropouts using a v2.5 128MB ram module that tested at 144 MHz. I ordered a new v3 module that is only testing at 141 MHz, but has greatly improved the sound. I still occasionally will load a CHD and have it recognized as an audio CD instead of a game. Usually I can reset a few times and it will eventually boot. I t...

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

Rumble seems to work only wireless for now, but that works fine. Assignment LEDs are all on for wired and first one for wireless. Maybe you are on some old "zImage_dtb" image? That's exactly what it was. I thought that file had already been rolled up into a linux update but was mistaken. Is there a way to recalibrate the NSO N64 controll...

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

Has anybody gotten rumble to work with the NSO N64 controller?

One other minor quirk with that controller. The player assignments LEDs constantly scan back and forth while using it. It never settles on a single one for me. Is that consistent with what others are seeing?

Re: MiSTerFPGA Y/C Out Module (Direct - S-Video / Composite Output) - Update

There are still some cores that haven't been updated to support native YC. You might want to keep that update option turned on for those. I keep waiting for MikeS to add a YC version of the new beta TMNT core!

Re: S-Video and Composite Over Component Output! (Custom Cores)

I just bought Antonio's new MikeS board but can't get it to work. I have composite_sync=1 in my ini file, the sync on green switch is off, and I already had the 5v jumper on to power Antonio's previous s-video transcoder. I'm using a Sony Trinitron with s-video and changed the video setting in Mike's cores to s-vid. I just get a black and white ima...

Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

Anybody else noticing image retention with this setup? Anything with rapid flickering in static locations seems to trigger it. I think the 240p test suite had some tests that could cause it. I also came across it for the first time in a game while playing TMNT IV on SNES yesterday. The final stage during the Krang boss fight has a portrait of Shred...

There's manual scans here (in japanese) https://imgur.com/gallery/uD6vN "We see a shift switch that makes the left analog work like flight controls or like a normal joystick." No idea what this means. Just a guess, but maybe it inverts the Y axis to allow you to use flight controls with games that didn’t have a built in option for invert...

Do you have a boot rom enabled to load with the core? From my experience if you have no boot rom set, the OSD pops up on core load. If you have the core set to auto load a rom, you don't get the OSD.

Same problem here. I have my core system type set to MVS and am using unibios 4. If I set unibios to arcade, the neo geo logo and jingle just loops over and over. That's the current state of misterfs on AO486, or at least it was when I last tried. As you point out, it works fine in DOS, but windows just hangs. Thanks for confirming. Windows 95 setup / misterfs

I recently started exploring the ao486 core and downloaded a Win95 vhd to get me going. It kept getting stuck at the first time setup, but I eventually fixed that problem by renaming ESDI_506.pdr in the Windows\System\IOSubsys directory. At this point, Win95 boots and runs. Next I tried to get MiSTerFS up and running. I edited my autoexec to mount ...

Re: Taito Egret II Mini Rollerball/Spinner Controller

Looks like the trackball controller is ~9.5" wide. A fair bit smaller then even a small arcade stick but larger than a normal pad. Only two buttons though, and even then they're on opposite sides of the panel.

Re: The case for a MiSTer-native video player

I'd be all for a video player that could load files off of the network. Is there anything for the Pi designed to play back videos on a crt? I know the Pi can do composite video out, but I'm more curious about the software side and how the interface scales to a low resolution. An modded OG xbox is also a great SD solution, but they're big and noisy.

Re: MD+/MSU Games Are Here!

I've got another MSU-MD related question. How do you go about using cheats with these games? I've tried copying a cheat zip from the Genesis and placing it in the game's directory with the same name as the directory, but loading up the cheat menu lists other, non-zip files as cheats to activate. For example, I have a directory named "Ghostbust...
