For me it's probably ditching my 21" iiyama monitor. I'd kill for it back these days
Same goes for the 32" Sony Trinitron TV I used to have.

Re: MiSTer Multisystem Handheld Prototype 'Handy'
I watched the retrorgb video and loved the idea of this. There is definitely a place for this in the market as nothing right now can do exactly what this is capable of. The hardware vs emulation argument has no place here, if you don't want it then that's fine but there's obviously those who do so they don't need denigrating. I like the rounded ver...

I'll have to download this and get it running, then i can officially retire the tower of Power and award it a long service medal.

Re: CRT vs. LCD "Disadvantage of CRT with Cores"
I'm a CRT user with my Mister and love them but they definitely have some disadvantages 1: Size. While not as high or wide as a decent size LCD they are certainly deeper. They are not as easy to find a surface to put them on and you certainly can't hang them on a wall. You really need to think about where you can put them when compared to plasma/LC...

Re: Where best to buy MiSTer components in UK
Yup, bought from the same place and they were excellent.
In the case of FPGA cheapest is most definitely not the best place to buy. Cheap addons can easily cause a lot of hassle and even damage to the MiSTer.

Re: One year with the MiSTer
I'm about a year in now and love it. I'm mainly a PC gamer but for quick blasts I default to the mister. It just looks and plays great and a Sony Trinitron CRT
It's relegated my Japanese MD with Mega Sd and Japanese Saturn with Mode to the sidelines, and I love those things.

I'm a big fan of the Saturn as it's my favourite console, but seeing as I have mine still up and running with a mode in I will root for PS1. I've never had one so look forwards to playing it.

Re: Repurposing the mini consoles
That look's pretty cool. I wonder how good the stand alone fight stick is... looks a reasonable price. Even if the buttons and sticks aren't the best it might be cheap enough that replacing them and getting a good stick doesn't break the bank.

Re: MiSTer Sega CD core vs OG Sega CDX hardware...how does it compare?
Nice vid. I guess some of the differences could come down to the output being HDMI vs scart and settings such as sound levels. I have to say I preferred the look and sound of the MiSTer myself. I have the model 1 Mega CD but only a few games for it, but lots on the MiSTer. I do need to look at the Mega CD core more, but right now I can't get enough...

Re: Rainbow Edges When Using CRT
Well thanks for the help guys but turns out I just don't know how to use my CRT :P On that model of TV when you choose the input option EG scart 1, scart 2 and input 3, you don't just choose the input but also the signal you are inputting EG On input 3 you choose between input 3 composite and input 3 s-video. But as they are the same input it still...

Re: Rainbow Edges When Using CRT
This looks to be a proper one as below, though he does also have a VGA-Scart cable

Edit: Also I have the I/O board so am going from that VGA port

Re: Rainbow Edges When Using CRT
Ok so it sounds like the S-video is great for the PVM but not for the CRT. I'm looking at the VGA to Scart adapter, it's just 10 euro and I've plenty of scart cables lying around. It looks like it sends stereo sound through the converter which is nice as sound is part of the reason I want to use this CRT, it kind of kicks ass for games. Do you have...

Re: Rainbow Edges When Using CRT
I think I tried the ypbpr option, but have to admit I probably tried a couple of other things at the same time. I will test it tonight when I'm home from work.
I'm guessing you mean the sync on green switch on the side. I have not tried that but will again try tonight.

Rainbow Edges When Using CRT
Hi, I've been using my mister with Antonio Villenas' VGA to s-video converter going to a JVC PVM with zero problems. All looks great and it works perfectly. However now I've got my Sony kd-28dx40u back out from the corner it was hiding in to use with my consoles I decided to try the MiSTer on it. The TV works perfectly well with both my Megadrive a...
