Thunder Cross collision detection.

Hi there, Hope everyone is all good. One of my favourite games is now available on the JT ailens core. It’s Thunder Cross but it seems to be showing some strange behaviour. When you shoot the flying ships it generates a white explosion that if you fly into it you die. The original board allows you to fly through the explosion unharmed. It is only s...

Thank you @Armourdillo Was that via io board or direct video ?

Sorry I missed this,

I am running via Mistercade, so the vga output is part of the XL daughter board on the bottom.
Direct video is not used.

Anyone else tried analog output?, it's scrambled for me on a tri sync arcade monitor not tired pvm yet.

No moaning btw I know it's alpha just wondering

Yes I have it running on a 31Khz Sanwa monitor.
Running In The Hunt and R-type Leo with no problems.

I have the scandoubler enabled but not the VGA scaler. (Core is running at 60hz)

Gyruss

Hi there,

Just a quick on, has there been a change to the Gyruss core?
Loaded it up last night and seem to have messed up sprites.

If I remove the core and mra, will the update all script replace them?

Cheers

Re: Video lag display.

Thank you very much.
I will take a look at the electronics and use a multi turn pot to adjust the threshold levels.

I think the hard part is making part of the GUI flash with values displayed.
Is the GUI common or does it change from core to core?

One final thing, is there a pin out for the usb I/O connector?

Thanks again.

Video lag display.

Hi there, I was looking at getting a lag meter for my setup to check the video lag over multiple resolutions. Now it looks like these devices only seem to support a handful of resolutions and need to be re-programmed when you want to change them. This got me thinking, the mister I/O board has some spare gpio on that usb3 style connector. 1st, Would...

Re: Time to print a new controller

retrorepair wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2020 1:54 pm Awesome! Will the files be publicly available once done?
Yes, that is the plan. Should have the design finished next week.
It’s a standard 30mm hole for the button so anything should fit.

Will also put up a parts list, everything is available from Amazon.

Use MiSTer as a video lag tester?

Hi there, I was wondering if the mister device could be configured to detect and display video lag? A photo diode would need to be wired to the unit (maybe through the input port) and results displayed on the screen. Very much like the Time Sleuth, could this be done and is it complex? Thanks for looking and thanks for all the good thing we get fro...

The fist print of the spinner is done. Printed solid so it has a little weight to it. 2849A9CD-665D-4E12-A1C4-28768E679CAD.jpeg Now it’s time to work on the casing. Time to print a new controller

Let’s see how we get on with this.
If there is any interest I will make the files available.

May take me a week or so to see the end result :)

Arkanoid Spinner + Buttons

Hi there,

I have been watching amoore2600's video about adding spinner support via the user I/O on the I/O board.
It is clear how to make the spinner work from the encoder but can somebody help me adding the button? (or buttons)
I would like to add Shoot/Catch button and a start button.

Number of inputs

Hi there,

Just a quick question.
Can you tell me how many inputs are supported on each USB port?

Can I mix digital and analog inputs also?

Cheers

Re: Converting CDD/IMG Disk Images to CUE/BIN

I have re-ripped all my CD’s with Turborip. It’s rips to .iso/.wav/.cue files.

Works with Windows 10 also.
