Re: Menu rotation based on video output used?

FPGA64 wrote: Tue Jul 16, 2024 10:14 am

you dont need to change an ini. just use alternative inis

https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_M ... anced/ini/

I know about alternate .inis, but I wanted to avoid this.

With each screen having its own menu with correct orientation, I don't need to change .inis before I load a rotated game.

Menu rotation based on video output used?

Is it possible to set main menu rotation depending on whether output is analog or direct video? So I don't need to change between .ini each time I want to change? This way I can have both my CRTs connected - one vertical (on direct video out), one normal (on my analog out) and the menu would be the right orientation on both, without changing configs.

Re: Taito Egret II Mini Rollerball/Spinner Controller

Has this been implemented in the main Mister build yet, or do we still need to use this variant? I got this working with Arkanoid on the Mister build posted here. Does it / will it ever work with any other games? The trackball works great with the Amiga core. Could do with the ability to increase responsiveness/sensitivity though. Any updates at a...

Re: Scripts for 'new' or curated 'best of' game lists?

Awesome! I'm really glad it worked for you. I will put together some documentation for github. I think that would be good, but before you do that, maybe we can do a little more testing first. A couple of things that would be great additions: - At the moment scripts are completely individual, and need their own folders. Would it be possible to have...

Re: Scripts for 'new' or curated 'best of' game lists?

Please let me know how this works for you and if you've got any suggestions. This works great, from my preliminary tests. I would suggest adding instructions on the github page, so that others can figure it out from there. I will post this to some reddit pages and forums and see if I can drill up some enthusiasm. It would be great for people to be...

Re: Scripts for 'new' or curated 'best of' game lists?

Anyway, I actually really like this idea, and I think the favorites script is a good candidate for it to be implemented. It already has the tools for creating and managing shortcuts, and it just happens to already have a boot script which can be used to scrape lists online. I've created an issue here: https://github.com/wizzomafizzo/MiSTer_Favorit...

Scripts for 'new' or curated 'best of' game lists?

I love my MiSTer. There is so much happening right now in the scene. With all the updates on cores and supported games for arcade cores, it is hard to keep up. I recently found the ' Coin-Op ' script, which gathers alternative arcade games into lists, a new way to browse things. I also have the ' Favorites ' script to help cut through all the syste...

Re: MiSTer Super Attract Mode (SAM) is now available - the first game screensaver for your MiSTer!

Any idea why occasionally SAM gets stuck on a game? It seems to be random, and could be from any system. But after being random for a while my installation will stop on one game and just never change. The only way to move on is reset. I have thousands upon thousands of games across 8 or so systems. There's no way I am going to be able to add those ...

Re: Case Recommendation?

Either assembly method for power delivery could be used when Sorgelig produced and released the USB hub v2.1 designs to the MiSTer project GitHub, I know of these being produced from day one, so it's not a 'new' version, It is the Chinese sellers, who incorrectly claim it as a 'new' version, when this is just incorrect. Great. But do you have any ...

Re: Case Recommendation?

No 'old' or 'new' USB hub exits in this context, it is a choice of the individual board manufacturers on how they actually populate to supply power delivery to the USB hub board, they are all the same base version which is currently v2.1 Fine, but the USB powered hub is being called '2.1' by various sellers, and seems vastly more popular now, espe...

LXDE Linux on MiSTer through RGB/CRT?

A couple of questions about the Linux LXDE install for Mister:
  • Can I run LXDE through my RGB into my CRT? The distribution page talks about resolutions etc. What would I need to do to get this working in 480i on my CRT?

Widescreen Super Mario World ROM Hack Possible?

As many of you will know, the talented creator of many SA-1 rom hacks, Vitor Vilela, has just released Super Mario World widescreen , which does exactly what it suggest: modding SMW into a 16:9 widescreen experience fit for modern TVs. It’s very impressive: super-mario-world-screenshot-widescreen.png At the moment this only works on bsnes emulator,...

Script to sync save games and change extension?

I like having the option to swap my SD card with other systems and keep on gaming. My Analogue Super NT with an SD2SNES and/or my RG350 portable device. Both of these systems use .srm extensions for most save games. Also, the location of the save folders is different. I realise it might also be possible to run a script when I have finished playing ...
