Re: Bandai WonderSwan Core Released

No worries mate; I do that all the time

It’s a good reminder about the alt ini files, though!

Re: Bandai WonderSwan Core Released

Hmmm, well, It’ll take someone alot cleverer than me to figure it out.

What I’ve done for now is add the vertical vscale border settings to the Alt Mister.ini. I think this resets the core so any mid-game flipping messes things up.

But, in better news, your settings worked perfectly for me - cheers!

Re: Bandai WonderSwan Core Released

Thanks so much for the help! I’ll take a look. I’m sure I used the same vscale number for the GB systems as I did with the WonderSwan but it looked way off (although maybe I just saw the vertical). If I need a different number for vertical from the horizontal; do you need to habe the vscale entry as a particular game in the Mister.ini or is there s...

Re: Bandai WonderSwan Core Released

Can anyone help with the correct vscale_border setting on this core? With 1:1 integer scaling it looks huge on my 4k screen.i’m using a resolution on 1080p in my Mister.ini. I’m guessing the correct number for me is around 300 or so. I’ve tried to use a couple of settings (with what I thought was the correct maths) but when I apply an LCD post proc...

Ridge Racer Bonus Disc

Has anyone tried or had a problem running the bonus disc that came with Ridge Racer 4?

Ive had it running before but now, since an update, it doesnt seem to work; it just hangs at the PlayStation boot logo. Ive tried all regions but nothing. All my other games work.

Is there anything that might have changed that I could try?

Thanks,

Nick

Oh God, I'm so sorry - i've realised what I've done!

I updated the bios files within a bios folder I had instead of the 'correct one'. Spark - you were right but I implemented it incorrectly! So sorry for wasting your time. I'm now into Akeley VHD!

Thanks again.....so sorry!

Hi, yes, no problem and thanks again for your help! System and BIOS: PCXT-Bios.png PCXT Main Screen: PCXT-Main.png I've played around with a few bios files / versions but I largely get the same result. The best I've gotten is to boot the Alley Cat game from floppy. With regards the Main Screen settings, I've tried different combinations of loading ...

Thanks Spark - that was so fast of a response!

I've just updated the rom files but everything still seems to be the same "not found".

Do you think I'm missing anything else in my set up?

Thanks!

Re: XT/Tandy Archives, HDD Images, Compilations, Top 300, Play It By Year, etc.

Would somebody mind pointing me in the right direction with this core? I had everything running with a pre-made image file full of games about 3 months ago (one I got from Akeley, I think) but I'm obviously missing something with the new version of the core. So, I'm fully up to date on my Mister as of yesterday. I'm using the following model: IBM P...

Re: MiSTer PCXT

Hi, I can see you guys are working on a higher level, but, I’m trying to get the core working but I’m struggling with the boot.rom. I’m trying to follow this thread but it’s a fair few IQ points beyond me…. It seems like once upon a time the boot.rom I need to get this running was in the SW folder on github but it doesn’t appear to be there now. Al...

Re: MiSTer locking up...any help would be great!

Also, do not use an inline power switch on the DC side of the adapter. Even if it appears to work at first, it will starve the connection over time and cause voltage or current dropouts and crash the MiSTer. Been reading about this issue with some worry for a while. To be clear, are switches with this issue causing long-term physical damage to som...

Re: MiSTer locking up...any help would be great!

Thanks again everyone.

I did some testing without the in-line power cable and everything seems good again. You mentioned it starves power over time - well, this seems to be exactly what was happening.

I’ll keep testing but it’s looking more and more like the in-line switch was causing issues.

Cheers

Re: MiSTer locking up...any help would be great!

Okay. 1. What is your bluetooth dongle? 2. Have you tried using a pigtail adapter for your bluetooth dongle? It kinda sounds like your bluetooth dongle in general isn't working. It sounds like it's losing the connection to your controller at the first sign of a hiccup in the connection. For the DualSense I noticed that when the bluetooth adapter l...

Re: MiSTer locking up...any help would be great!

Try without the Gscart switch and go directly to the tv and see what happens. My mister has never actually worked with the gscart; it’s plugged directly into the TV. With zero knowledge or know-how i’ve convinced myself it’s either the PSU as you guys suggested or, somehow, the rgb scart cable is causing the mister some difficulties. Seems strange...

Re: MiSTer locking up...any help would be great!

Thank you both, Good suggestions! By way of update - i unplugged my RGB scart from my CRT TV and just ran the mister on my 4k TV. Seemed to work perfectly for over an hour with loads of different cores. No controller drops outs, all cores worked perfect (just like old times). I’m wondering, then, if the VGA to SCART cable could be an issue? I’ve go...

MiSTer locking up...any help would be great!

Hello, I’ve been using Mister for some years now without problem. I’ve had it connected to both a CRT and a 4k LG CX - no problems. Recently, my Mister has been locking up (i.e. the controller ceases to work, can’t get to OSD menu but game is running in the background). Now, i’ve recently added a bluetooth adapter to my Mister and synced a PS5 cont...

Hi, I've just been trying this core and I can get to the "G?" boot screen but then whenever I try to load a .bin file it looks like the system rests and just shows the "G?" screen again. I'm guessing I've either got bad .bin files or I'm missing something with the bios files....? Do I need to call the bios anything in particular...

C64 Controls - Keyboard/Joystick

Hi, I don’t know if i’m being stupid or not (probably am) but I find controls very hit and miss and it’s likely down to be user error but I thoight I’d check. I’ve got my Comtroller correctly mapped on the Mister and within the core. I’m trying to play most games with just the controller. Most games I can simply tap the keyboard until I figure out ...

Sorry to derail the conversation away from homebrew bastards, but, does anyone have a 'jittery-graphics' issue with the Vectrex core? I've tried a couple of different vsync/resolution settings in the Mister.ini but nothing seems to work. Would anyone mind sharing their settings that produces rock solid graphics? Or have I missed something entirely?...
