Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

Can you provide us the link to the case and the parts used for your build? That case is AWESOME!! Yes please provides us with a link. I couldn't find it on Aliexpress. It's almost perfect, I just would want to include the MT32pi Hello!!! you can buy it here https://www.aliexpress.com/store/911238071 I thought about including the mt32-pi inside the...

Really interested in how you get on. I've read somewhere else that Sinden is working on Mister, but I can't see it anywhere official. Or even have confidence in what that actually means.

Re: Neo Geo MVS shockboxes better for protecting your carts than the normal boxes?

The shockboxes are good protection. I have about a dozen of Big Bear's original run from about 2003 or something. They have a really tight fight and are certainly dust proof. I'd think you could submerge them in water briefly without even worrying about it. But I wouldn't try. I have a good collection of kits, but keep my most played games in shock...

Re: Repurposing the mini consoles

It seems a bit small to fit a MiSTer, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong. It's really not that small: 329 mm x 280 mm x 315 mm. The stick and buttons are apparently full size. That's an 8 inch screen on it, it's way bigger than the little astro cabs, or SNK mini consoles. If this is a 'mini' then those need to become 'micro' (which actually I thi...

Repurposing the mini consoles

I was looking at the new Capcom mini console, which is quite a neat looking thing anyway. http://www.retrostationarcade.com/en/ I was thinking about how viable it's likely to be to swap in a Mister. The set up of the box and screen look pretty good, there is a USB out port in the case already so I think it could work neatly. I can't see any picture...

chassis mounted power input

I'm struggling to find a chassis/ panel mounted dc input that's got the right properties. I think the mister need a 2.1mm pin and a 5.5mm connector, and I think it should probably be rated to 5A, given that's what my power supply can output to. I guess I could get away with less as I don't think the Mister actually draws that much but I'd rather go...

Re: Considerations for a custom case?? Where to buy??

Looking at some enclosures with a half plan to maybe make my own case I'm wondering how many external usb I really need/ want. I'm tempted to get a slightly larger enclosure and just all my wireless usb dongles inside the box. Less accessible but neater looking, less work and less cost. Any reason to go for more than one really? I'm thinking I migh...

An interesting companion for this, but no idea how you'd actually make it work usefully, would be a Wonderborg core.

Re: Neo Geo core considered "console" not "arcade"?

It's one system in different presentations. They were released pretty much simultaneaously. Neither really has precedence over the other.

Personally, I'd rather see it under arcade as a platform. But the titles would be lost among everything else. It's such a big platform it's good to be able to find it by itself.

Handheld is nice, I'd be interested to see a Mister built into a fight stick too. let it daisy chain a second controller.

Re: Dreamcast controllers into USB convertor

Here is a simple solution. Buy one of these: https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/dreamcast_usb_adapter/index.php They are touted as making some of the best USB adapters, so it should work and have almost zero lag. So your 'should'... have you got one and used it on a MiSTer? It's not cheap so I don't want to shell out for it if I don't know it's...

Re: Dreamcast controllers into USB convertor

So it works up to a point. The config doesn't see buttons Z and C, the last pair. A bit a shame as they're handy for fighting games but not the end of the world.

Dreamcast controllers into USB convertor

Ahead of building my MiSTer I'm thinking about controllers. I've an 8bitdo one, and some X Box ones that I can wire, so I think I'll be OK.

I would like to be able to use my Dreamcast stick though. It have a Dreamcast -> USB convertor, is there any reason to believe that won't work?

Re: MiSTer vs NeoSD MVS for neogeo

I'm itching to find out. I have a very extensive MVS collection, and MiSTer parts on the way...

I'm after MiSTer for CPS2 and PCEngine stuff, but I'll be interested to see how the NeoGeo stuff holds up. It's definitely my best benchmark to see how MiSTer works.
