Re: Konami 4-Player Arcade Games

4 player arcade cabinets had dedicated control panels for each character, where switching character implying player moving to other panel. If you don't want to set up multiple controllers just to switch characters, you can use 2 player variant roms present in the Arcade/_Alternatives folder. 2 player games had proper character select screens inste...

Konami 4-Player Arcade Games

How do I configure the cores for The Simpsons and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to allow choosing the characters?

Since the 4-player ROMs are used for these cores, Player 1 always defaults to Marge and Leonardo respectively.

Is there some other way other than connecting another controller?

Thank you.

Re: Using MiSTer with NAS

Got it working.

It's as simple as downloading cifs_mount.sh from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Scripts ... s_mount.sh, editing this SH script according to NAS settings and shares, and then running it in the MiSTer! :)

Re: Using MiSTer with NAS

For NFS there's more docs here: https://code.area536.com/Public/misternfs To expand a bit on Asteld's reply, using MiSTer with a NAS is not documented as such. On your NAS you can share part of your storage over either the CIFS/SMB protocol or NFS. Using those shared bits of storage is documented on the links given. If you haven't got a preference...

Re: MiSTer Nuked-MD Mega Drive Core

You get the same issue when you connect the Mister directly to the Tink, without the HDMI switch in between? Not possible to test because of cable management in my shelf. I asked around the RetroTink Discord and several people were getting the exact same results as I am. Looks like it's back to the old Genesis core for me :) Many thanks for all yo...

Using MiSTer with NAS

Is there an up-to-date easy to follow guide on configuring MiSTer to get it's ROM from a NAS?

Most articles I found online are for those running RetroNAS.

Is there anything for those using Qnap or Synology NAS?

And would a 16GB SD card be sufficient since the ROMs are no longer stored locally?

Thanks!

I am still getting the same results.

Re: MiSTer Nuked-MD Mega Drive Core

The Sharp X68000 core doesn't support direct video. The C3 shoudn't have any problems with the MegaDrive core. So this could be it just an incompatiblilty with the Switch in combination with the Tink. If vsync_adjust=0 doesn't help your probably out of luck (for now at least). I guess you've tried to enable VRR (either in the mister.ini -> Freesyn...

Re: MiSTer Nuked-MD Mega Drive Core

Yeah, this shouldn't happen at all. Mister 240p should be stable when in direct video mode over HDMI. What's your display? Usually VRR capable devices have less issues with that. You could also try to something like this in the Mister.ini: [MegaDrive] vsync_adjust=0 or set it to "Triple Buffer" in the Tink HDMI Ouput -> Sync Lock setting...

Re: Neo Geo Pocket

Nothing happens when I press the COIN button, even after manually defining the buttons for the core :(

I uploaded ngp.zip (containing both ngp_bios.ngp and ngpcbios.rom) in /fat/games/mame, but I still get the message stating the bios not found when I load either ngp or ngpc core.

Strange. Have you tried to delete the MegaDrive config files in media/fat/config ?

Unfortunately this did not work either.

The RetroTink 4K keeps switching between MiSTer Gen (MegaDrive) and MiSTer 240p (MegaDrive), but other than that there's no audio and video.

I guess it's progress - previously it was simply "No Signal"

Re: Real Bout Fatal Fury Neo Geo to Mega Drive Port

The core accepts MD, BIN, and GEN file extensions.
You can simply change the file extensions interchangeably with a PC anyway, the core will still accept it.

Re: MiSTer Nuked-MD Mega Drive Core

Yes, direct video works fine with the core. I'm using it via Retrotink 4K too. What's exactly the problem? Garbage, wrongly scaled image, black screen? Black screen. I don't have all cores installed in my MiSTer, but of all the console cores I have tested this is the only one where Direct Video doesn't work. The core in my MiSter is the latest 202...

Re: MiSTer Nuked-MD Mega Drive Core

Question:
Is this core compatible with Direct Video?
Direct Video woks between my MiSTer and RetroTink 4K for almost all cores, but this doesn't. I just wanted to confirm, since the MegaCD and 32X cores have Direct Video support.

Actually the N64 was pretty powerful, the problem was for cost reasons Nintendo saved on ram (a mistake they admitted later) and for paranoia they went with modules. The hardware itself was awesome and the gpu the strongest of that generation by miles it was just basically entirely castrated by the cost cutting measures and piracy paranoia. I wond...

CDi (I don't know the library as good as others, but even here I am aware of at least one great exclusive):
Burn Cycle

If you have an emulator, you should try Labyrinth of Crete. It's a great puzzle game with beautiful presentation.

The CD-i version of Tetris may be simple and basic, but it creates a very zen experience.

Maybe the problem is not in not being interested in a system, but this childish language like "fail systems", "useless systems", etc. We get it you are not interested in the 3DO, Jaguar or CDi (up to the point of not even bothering writing them with the proper upper case/lower case letters).
