Re: External HDD problems

Little update.
At the moment I've solved the automatic run of the script on boot by adding:

Code: Select all

sh /media/fat/Scripts/S99spin
After creating a new user-startup.sh file on /media/fat/linux.

Now I need to test if using the script I'll have the same issue but at least it seems to run properli on boot now

Re: External HDD problems

I might have found at least one of the issues the S99spin script in /etc/init.d doesn't star when mister is booting, if I manually start the spin script at least is reported to run when I check with ps -ef | grep "Spin" command. I did'nt test enough the misteer with the script running but it's been like 30 minutes that I'm running some PC...

Re: External HDD problems

Thank you for your answer, I've tried following your suggestion but after a while the error occurred again, I'll try to lower the interval. The only odd thin is that I have a very short UUID on both the HDDs I've tried (I connected only once a time with same files when I tried to play): /root# blkid /dev/loop0: UUID="1ee65149-762a-43be-9c95-93...

External HDD problems

Hello, I'm using this 2TB hdd for quite a while to store the games for mister : (https://www.westerndigital.com/products/portable-drives/wd-elements-portable-usb-3-0-hdd#WDBU6Y0020BBK-WESN). This HDD made some strange metallic sounds from the beginning but only when used with mister (tried 2 hdds of the same model) but didn't give me any particular...

Thank you very much for the instructions! I was able to program both ports and now seems to work flawlessy!!! I say "seems" because at the moment I can try only with a 4 button arcade stick, I'll go to take the 6 buttons later and report here! :D

Re: MiSTer with LLAPI/LLOAD flickering inputs

Schematics attached. I don't know if it's better to start a new topc or not, I was able to design the board with a friend and yesterday I assemblet it, unfortunately is not working. I've tested with a SNES pad test rom and those are the results: - If I insert the adapter (tried with 2 of them) Start + B buttos are pressed and stay pressed even if ...

SNAC and Atari 2600 adapter

Hello, I've been able to assemble SNAC (USB version) and all the controller adapter, everything is working but there are a couple of things that are unclear and I wasn't able to find an answer on the web. 1) The JST X1 connector (not the jumper) on the SNAC PBC what is meant for? 2) On the Atari 2600 adapter how do I use the female jack? 3) On the ...

Re: Upgrading my old I/O board for low lag input devices

Finally I got enough components to assemble a USB snac and a couple of adapters (I'm still waiting PCBs for HDMI snac, PCE SNAC, cables, ports and some LLAMA adapters :? ) but I was able to test the mega drive PCB with a 6 buttons controller and I can confirm that the mod is working!

It's really difficult to source components these days even for a couple of small projects (some SNAC and LLAMA stuff) :(

Re: Alternatives parts for SNAC

Thank you very much for your indications, maybe I've found another suitable substitute for Q1, I think that 595-TPS7A0533PDBZR could be a good candidate too, what do you think? Just to find some alternatives.

For the MOFSET what are the important parameters to look at? I was looking for a SOT23-3 Nchannel RdsOn 3.5 Ohms.

Re: Alternatives parts for SNAC

I'll try to give a look.. I don't know if I had bad luck but when ordering components on ebay, even if in the auction it's reported that the seller is located in Europe the item is shipped from china so I'm always a bit reluctant to place an order for those items. At least on ebay there's the PayPal protection..

Alternatives parts for SNAC

Hello everyone, I'd like to build myself a SNAC for my MiSTer but I'm really struggling to find some components, exspecially those 2: - U1 - PMIC-LDO-XC6206P332MR-G (SOT23) - Q1-Q8 - BSS138 I usually order from mouser because since I'm in Europe I have free shipping over 50$ and no customs fees but I can't find thoese parts anywhere else. Is there ...

Sorry for bothering again..
I was looking at the scheme with a friend to make 2 PCBs for LLAMA but I don't understand what D7 D6 D5 and D4 stand for, what's their meaning?
They aren't connected to any db15 port, right?

Re: MiSTer with LLAPI/LLOAD flickering inputs

Thank you for clarifying!
I was pretty sure, once I saw that it was working with a shorter cable that the problem was on my I/O board.
I find this LLAMA adapter to be very functional I only wish that the db15 port supported a 6 buttons arcade stick but I think that is impossible since there aren't any low lag adapter for that

Re: Upgrading my old I/O board for low lag input devices

I compared the schemes of the 5.5 and 6.1 versions and I've tried to add IO6 signal and a pull up resistor for every serial signal:

Now I need a SNAC with the genesis adapter to test if it works.
The pull up resistors solved the flickering inputs with a relatively long USB 3.0 cable using LLOAD input device

Re: MiSTer with LLAPI/LLOAD flickering inputs

I've got a little update. The cable provided with the LLAPI device was not defective! Looking at the schemes of my I/O board v 5.5 and comparing them with the 6.1 I've noticed that on the serial area there is one more signal (IO6) selectable with a jumper and some pull up arrays for each signal of the serial port. So I decided to try to add IO6 to ...

Upgrading my old I/O board for low lag input devices

Hello, I've bought my mister a while ago and it came with the LLAPI input device from bootsector. It works really but I'd like to try snac too (mainly because of the possibility to use a USB device too). My questions are: I've read that for some adapters like the mega drive one I need the last revision due to a lack of connections on older revision...
