Even though some boards will work from 5V (mine does), the brightness will be awful. So i suggest to use 12V anyway. Despite having a giant bin of old adapters I didn't have a 1.35mm for it! I was hoping to just test that it worked off usb (after all why even include it?) While I waited for my adapter to come. Gotta say I'm super happy with it now...

*edit* Figured out the problem. My board just doesn't want to run off 5v usb even to test but it works perfect with 12 the one i bought (linked above) is OK at 5v via usb, but i had to use a 2.5A psu from a pi3 to get it to work, anything less wont fire up. but i didnt pay any attention to the LEDs sorry, so i dont know if its the same thing Thank...

I bought a 12V 3A adapter from Amazon with a 3.5mm connector and an adapter to convert that to the 1.35mm connector on the HDMI converter board. I updated my mister.ini with settings for the iPad 3 display (1536p) and attempted to boot. No video on the iPad display and the two LEDs near the power connector on the converter board are flashing.
