Re: Direct Video to Component pink screen Sony Trinitron display

Try ypbpr=0 and set the PVM RGB in the menu settings (not COMP) That solved the pink hue problem for me with my Sony PVM Thanks, but yes direct video to RGB works fine on the PVM. It's just when outputting to component. RGB is the better way to go anyway, I was just playing with component as was thinking might be easier to use a component switch.

Re: Direct Video to Component pink screen Sony Trinitron display

I’ve had same issues to a Sony PVM

To my Sony consumer 21” crt it works great

To my Sony PVM 20m2mdu it shows the pink hue

Using all same cables and setup etc.

Using the analogue I/o board and component it works fine with either.

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers

Awesome designs! Is that a full monitor case and stand for the iPad display? Thanks! Yeah, it's a stand for the AliExpress iPad display (monitor enclosure is just the one that it comes with from AliExpress). Supports being rotated and locked into position for either orientation. monitor.jpg monitor-back.jpg IMG_5302.jpg Looks really great Can we h...

Re: How long does it take for your MiSTer to be operational?

From switching on at the power my times are:

0 seconds to see static
6 seconds until I see the mister menu
15 seconds until wifi becomes active
22 seconds until Bluetooth becomes active

Re: Information Overload

If the display has a vga port: hdmi (mister) > hdmi to vga converter > vga to vga (monitor) If the display has component: hdmi (mister) > hdmi to vga converter > vga to component (monitor/tv) Is that right? I’d honestly just get the analogue I/o board to reduce complexity with connecting it to a CRT. If you’re already confused / overloaded having ...

Hmm ok, maybe I'll have to experiment further, but plugging in my wifi and bluetooth dongle worked for a short period but would then basically just drop out / stop appearing in the mister status bar.

Adafruit Mini USB Hub

I have one of these mini usb hubs I was considering using: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2991 Basically just want to use for Wifi, Bluetooth, and a controller. Assume it'll need to be powered but says on that product page: "There is a 1.35mm DC jack port for an external power supply but its connected directly to the 5V line so if you need t...

No worries. For what it’s worth I play it over Bluetooth on a CRT and can’t detect any obvious lag compared to my original snes/neogeo/md hardware

I posted about the same issue with a board I got from a local reseller here in aus on eBay viewtopic.php?p=40532#p40532

Just got a new board from https://ozmistermods.com/collections/ex ... board-v6-1 and works great. So thought I’d mention if helps anyone on this issue of the globe.

Re: Those dark lines on a CRT television aren't "scanlines"

I think you’re getting the implementation confused with the result. It’s a ‘scanline effect’, that yeah you can describe as being implemented on an lcd by effectively adding black lines to the image, but it’s more useful to describe by the result of emulating scanlines. It’s like if you had a ‘blue tint’ effect. It’s more useful to call it that tha...

Re: Vertical bands in Super Mario Kart with 5x and MG shadow mask

Sometimes your TV can be doing extra scaling that'll impact the picture. I found on my LG OLED C1 I had to turn on 'Just Scan' in the Aspect Ratio settings.

Ok cheers, this looks to be exactly the same issue. It’s like the curve of the green is off rather than reduced. Guess points at incorrect parts being used on the I/O board.

Re: Odd colors over VGA -> Component

I got the exact same problem with a Kit I bought on amazon.ca. My I/O board look a lot like yours with the RGB fan. I wonder if it's not just a defect with bad resistor values. I'm trying to find a reliable way to try HDMI direct video to component without having to mod a cable to put sync on green, but I can't find anything. I'm kind of scared to...

Re: Odd colors over VGA -> Component

Mister's VGA output is limited to 8-bit color. The Component setting further degrades it to 6-bit Not sure that fully explains the purple shift, but some banding is probably expected at least. Ok thanks for the reply. The banding I’m not so concerned about, just wondered if it pointed to the issue. It’s a shame the mister can’t put out the colors ...

Odd colors over VGA -> Component

I've got MiSTer connected to my Sony CRT via VGA -> Component. Have SOG turned on (otherwise I get rolling image). Colors initially seem 'right', but in certain instances they seem to have a bit of a red tint, especially in greys. Here's an example, at the start of Metal Slug on the Neo Geo core, the background is purple IMG_9012.jpg Here's how it ...

Re: Are PVMs still unique?

I think most later CRT TVs will work with both Pal and ntsc. This certainly applies to pal TVs, at least. Not just with rgb either - even using composite! Yeah I’ve got a great little PAL region 21” Sony consumer CRT (sold in Australia) that I primarily have NTSC consoles connected to it via scart to component and works great. I have an OLED also ...
