Ability to Manually Save and Load Multiple Remap Files for Each Core

Currently, the remap function only saves a single remap for each core, which can be limiting with certain cores and controllers. As an example, the C buttons on the N64 controller are usually mapped to the second analog stick on a modern controller, which works fine for say, Super Mario 64 where you control the camera with it. But for other games t...

I will work on it. It needs some fixes which I also did for the NeoGeo CD.

Working perfectly now, no more popping, thank you so much!

HI,
If you have an account on discord you could join the mister discord to propose it on #test-build

This modified build was posted on #test-build a year ago by birdybro, that's where I got it from, I just happened to find it when looking for a solution to the issue. For some reason the fix was never integrated to the main release of the core.

The M30 is great, but it lacks the real Saturn shoulder buttons. The M30 shoulder buttons are cloned C & Z buttons iirc.

The L R are completely independent buttons, at least in the BT model.

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

The Neo Geo CD core uses the same code to access the CD as the Mega CD. So the addition was for that not the Mega CD. Discord has asked that people test the Mega CD using the new mister available on the discord to see if any issues have been created I see, I thought that maybe the issue was on that CD code shared with the NeoGeoCD, and during the ...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

An update on the issue: I heard a NeoGeo CD core is on the way and there was a test Mister binary that had changes to the CD code that is shared with MegaCD, so I joined discord to get it, but there was no difference. However, looking into the testbuild channel, I found a MegaCD build that was proposed to fix the Issue, I believe the same one that ...

You probably use a bin/cue with only one bin file?
If yes: This function is currently broken. There is a WIP fix from Zakk, but i'm not sure about the status. Otherwise your bin/cue must have one bin file for each CD track to work properly. Or you can use CHD.

Indeed it was, a single bin. Thanks for the info! :D

Community Pom english patch weird behavior

A strange glitch happens in the english patched version of Community Pom. During the tittle screen, when running the patched version, instead of the proper tittle screen music playing, the ending song will play instead. This happens only with the patched cue/bin of the game. Running the same files on an emulator like mednafen, the correct music is ...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

One other thought...what sort of storage device is your CHD on? If the popping is normally at the start of any given track, I wonder if your storage is slightly too slow to keep up and the popping continues until it's had enough time to linearly buffer subsequent data. Mine is on my SD card, and I use SanDisk Ultra exclusively. (The only reason I ...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

Wait, so you get popping with the BIOS CD player with normal audio CD rips? I can't find any way to get the Ecco (1) CD to play just the music in the BIOS player. No, was testing with Ecco 1 and couple other games. After loading the cue on the core menu, press A, I believe, instead of start at the first bios screen, and it will open the CD player ...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

Does the popping appear during the intro without gameplay? How can it be triggered? Yes, but the sound effects make it harder to notice. Going into the gameplay and staying still while only the music plays or playing the music trough the bios CD player is the best way to tell, listening with headphones at a decent volume will make it more noticeab...

Re: MegaCD Redbook Audio Pop Issue

Was there any development on this issue? Just tried Ecco and indeed, the popping is there. Compared to some examples posted above, the popping seems to be less frequent and not as loud, although definitely still there. Tried the BIOS CD player, same deal.

How does loading games with CIFS/SMB compare to SD and USB storage in terms of latency? Would loading games from a SSD in a local network be much slower than one connected directly trough USB?

Terminal "press any key to continue" DS4

When a "press a key to continue" prompt appears after a script, I usually just press a key on any controller or keyboard connected to the MiSTer and it closes as it should. However, when it's my DS4v2 connected, it not only won't close the terminal, other controllers and/or keyboards ALSO won't close it until I unplug my DS4 from the MiST...
