Sorry to necro the thread. This isn't a workaround but I can confirm that I also see this issue, specifically on Linux on the desktop. I've sent a message to Brook, I'm hopeful that they'll respond. If I get anything back from them I'll say something. All I really hope for is a v1.0 firmware installer, though a new firmware rev with this bug fixed ...
