Re: Case suggestions for GRS Led Arcade Trackball?

I’ve used one of those GRS trackballs before in an Arcade1Up that I modded. I wasn’t very impressed with it. The ball doesn’t roll very smoothly and there isn’t enough weight behind it to really get it spinning. Ok, I was a bit worried about that weight thing. Any experience on these? This should be "the real deal"? https://www.arcadexpr...

Case suggestions for GRS Led Arcade Trackball?

This seems to be a very good trackball for Mister (mainly for Marble madness). Would someone have a case suggestion for this fine piece of hw or other tips? 👌

MSX core by Molekula and Princess Paloma’s Rescue - no sound?

Tried this wondeful looking entry in the MSXdev24 and unfortunately there's no sound, no matter what computer model I choose. At one point I heard a short clip of music, but then it disappeared just by itself and never came back. There seems to be somthing weird with the MSX-Audio part then 🤔 I have tried all the MSX1 core versions (those that have...

Re: Problematic Game Typed From a Program Listing

@emuola, Just tried your game and it works on my side. I'm using the core VIC20 from the 31th march of 2023 on a VGA LCD monitor, I can enter to the game and control the player between the cars with the (Z) and (/) keys. Just noticed that I had to set [Screen center] option to [None] otherwise the screen is flickering Thank you so much, it was the...

Problematic Game Typed From a Program Listing

I'm trying to run this game typed from the legendary Finnish MikroBitti magazine. It works with a real VIC-20 of the fellow who had typed it and kindly sent me the files, but with the latest VIC-20 core my IPS Dell loses sync and says it cannot display the image. Other VIC-20 games I've tested work just fine. How could I get this working? What coul...

I would first have a thorough read of the wiki and specifically the configuration of MiSTer.ini and display specific video modes.

You should also check out atract17's repo here, there is a preconfigured .ini for 1280x1024 LCDs with integer scaling here.

Thank you so much, I hadn't found that repo before 👍

Best settings for 19" 1280 x 1024 (5:4) IPS?

As there are tons of things one can adjust, I'd need some advice how to get the best out of my display, namely Dell 19" 1280 x 1024 IPS. I've tried a lot of different filters and settings, but I'm kinda unsure if I completely missed something here  Something I's need to change in the .ini? Filters and other processing settings to accompa...

Stupid user detected: how do I load DSK-files?

Sorry for being a complete idiot, but for the life of me, I cannot figure this out. I found official Spectrum 128k etc manuals online, but they claim the DSKs should "just start" after reset - but they won't.

Please help me out🙈

PC/XT: pcxt31.rom Not Working, Others Are?

I ran the Python scrips and the roms were generated. For some reason if I specify the pcxt_pcxt31.rom as the rom for IBM and choose Reset and apply, the core does nothing. With e.g. pcxt_micro8088.rom it does reset and then start. What could be wrong with my configuration?

Re: Ethernet With Crossover Cable Directly to PC - How to Config? [Solved]

Should something like this happen again you could always pull out the SD card, boot your computer from a Linux installation USB stick and use the live USB environment from that to do your edits in the SD card. Such sticks may have the purpose of installing an OS but that doesn't mean you have to, and their minimal environments are usually good eno...

Re: Ethernet With Crossover Cable Directly to PC - How to Config? [Solved]

Glad you solved it. I did not know that you had no way to connected to your MISTer, although I should have suspected it could have been a possibility. Instead of SSH you could have switched to the console by pressing F9 on the keyboard if you have one) and proceed from there. Hmm. Nothing happens, if I press F9 🤔 Is it something configurable in th...

Re: Ethernet With Crossover Cable Directly to PC - How to Config? [Solved]

There is no problem accessing this file but you have to do it under Linux. SSH into MISTer and vi /etc/dhcpcd/conf or whatever editor you want to use. It is what I did to set my MISTer in fixed IP. How can I SSH in to MiSTer as I cannot access via the ethernet? :O I don't have a switch at the moment and Wifi either. I guess I'm screwed then ? Wind...

Re: Ethernet With Crossover Cable Directly to PC - How to Config? [Solved]

Found this, but where is the /etc/dhcpcd.conf on the SD card? I know my way around Linux filesystem, but how can I actually access it? Network configuration is now done with dhcpcd. You will have to modify the /etc/dhcpcd.conf file to setup a static ip. Add something like this on the bottom of the file: interface eth0 static ip_address=192.168.0.XX...

Ini-Settings with 3840x1080 Display and Aspect Ratio? [Solved]

Trying to create a temporary alt.ini for my MiSTer for the aforementioned resolution via HDMI. Temporary meaning I cannot use my BVM just now for a few weeks/months. How should I set the vscale etc. in the ini, so that the aspect ration of the cores would be 1:1 and not stretched? I cannot get my head around this 🤦‍♂️

Re: KFC 15" CRT via HDMI-VGA adapter and scanlines?

If, as I understand, this KFC is a 31KHz PC monitor, you can just use the Video Processing Filters from the OSD. I'm stuck with a VGA PC monitor as my only CRT atm and this is a sort of compromise (I use slightly tweaked PVM / JVC presets). It's neither fish nor fowl really, if we are talking serious CRT addiction ( I really miss my consumer 15kHz...

...is that Kentucky Fried Chicken? :p 480p scanlines are tiny, even when visible its never as honking big as 240p. Standard Definition sets were aimed at 480i, the gaps in 240p are visible mainly because it was never a resolution intended by the TV industry.
