This affects the colors somewhat but, interestingly, no matter how I oversaturate or undersaturate the colors through my LCD menu, it does not make the text visible against the background. This thread caught my eye. Did you ever resolve this problem? I have the exact same issue with cores like Gun Smoke as you mentioned above. I'm using the horizontal ini file (and then I rotate my monitor vertical when needed, which is fine) but I get that white on white overlay menu too. I'm also using the jamma harness for the controls but the VGA...

I've noticed on a small handful of cores, when I F12 into the settings, the background of the settings screen, instead of being red with white lettering, has a white background with white lettering.
