The 99$ board itself is sold out though, was it actually a buyable option in this batch?

Check again. They're available now.

Re: MiSTer Pi

The 2nd batch of MiSTer Pi units goes on sale "on Nov. 19th at 10am HKT (UTC +8) / Nov. 18th at 9:00pm EST". This means morning in Asia, evening in the USA, and middle of the night in the good ol' Europe. So I'm out of the contest again. Perhaps it's fate saying I don't really need a 3rd MiSTer ;) I appreciate you posting this update! I'...

Hey, Been lurking for a little while catching up on this tech. I am an arcade engineer and many other things, so have direct interest in using FPGA to replace boards that are not available to stop all machines ending up in the fire. An Arcade Fire!? Funny enough, I have stopped a couple of actual arcade fires in my brief time working at an arcade ...

I know the internet is a scary place and giving out your phone number to a giant company must be terrifying for you, but maybe let's try to not assume negative intent quite so much okay? This is completely unnecessary. When I attempted to start a game club here on the forums for people who do not want to use Discord (plenty of people stated as muc...

ZX Spectrum reproduction model, The Spectrum, to be released soon

This might make a fun housing for a MiSTer build! Has a UK price of £89, with a speculated USA price of $99.

This is cool! Thanks for sharing! I would love to see some of the cut scenes from the Gamecube remake of Metal Gear Solid (The Twin Snakes). The cinematics are video files for MGS Twin Snakes? Because if they run in realtime, I'm pretty sure someone on youtube has done a full playthrough or a cinematics package in 4K using Dolphin and it should lo...

Now you need an Analogue Pocket...

At this point, it's worth waiting for Taki Udon's handheld MiSTer project. The Pocket certainly has a lot of nice things about it, but it's limited in capabilities compared to the MiSTer.

Re: MiSTer FPGA Might Be the Best Piece of Hardware I've Ever Owned

The MiSTer is the perfect balance between new and old. It's the best solution to play old games for those of us who are sensitive to input lag. There are insufferable people in every large group. I personally think that there are far more of them in the software emulation circles since the barrier to entry there is almost nothing and therefore ther...

Re: RetroNAS - Reinstall or is there an easier way

Ok, the weirdest thing just happened. I've been doing file transfers on a local PC while waiting to see if any replies to my last post would turn up. Suddenly, my RetroNAS mapped drive in 'My Computer' noticeably turned from red to blue (implying I had access now?!?). I then typed \\retrosmb in the bar of 'My Computer' and suddenly I have access t...

Does PSX refer to PS1 or all Playstation consoles?

The PSX was a special DVR edition of the PS2 that never seemed to have left Japan.

PSX was also the codename for the PS/PS1

And the PSone was the slim redesign of the PSX/PS1 because it wasn't confusing enough already.

Re: MARS is now...MPRS?

I don't want there to be drama or schisms in the FPGA gaming community, but when some public repos for MiSTer cores get deleted for seemingly no reason by the same people who are producing MARS, it's hard not to notice it and get a bit upset. Seems petty to do that, and certainly not in the spirit of preservation. I've mostly been able to ignore th...

Re: A 'thank you' to Sorg is in order

I noticed that a $100 USD clone DE-10 Nano is available now (soon?). My gut says that's almost completely due to the demand for the MiSTer coupled with the limited supply of OEM boards (and the price increases over the last few years). MiSTer is creating new jobs in a tough economy!

Thank you, Sorg, for your dedication to this excellent project!

This reminds me of Mario Paint! Back when it was first released, Nintendo encouraged players to use their VCRs to capture their work since the ability to save that work the cartridge was very limited.

Considering it was commonly thought the N64 was impossible on the DE-10 Nano, development ending because it can go no further than it already has should in no way be considered a failure.

This is a triumph! I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS!

Excellent work, Robert! I hope you enjoy your well-deserved break.

I guess the formatting of the ID just seemed weird to me. It looked like a placeholder rather than a valid code. I might try it without the underscores anyway.

Re: Expanding the forum to include other retro gaming?

I would be in support of another section for discussion. Just because there is only a moderate amount of traffic here doesn't mean there can't be some sense of community. With the addition of the Groovy MiSTer core, we have more reason than ever to start talking about software emulation end games not yet given the FPGA treatment.
