I will indeed try Turborip (and CDMage as a backup). Most of the work is now done. Thanks everyone for the advice.

MiSTer is not a garbage can with random functions used by 1-2 people. Uhh... On a scale of 1 to 10 I wonder how difficult it would be to add USB CD-ROM drive support to boot original game discs?
