It wouldn't make any sense to use a standard port like SNES AV then change the pinout, you would then need custom cables. Single board MiSTer clones are already in the works. As far as I understand, MiSTer has the same blue menu with settings on Linux as RetroPie, they also said above that the DE10-nano has an ARM processor and this means that you can install the EmulationStation shell on it. I think sooner or later someone will do it.
