Re: Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode
I upgraded the core yesterday and still no luck, the image is not stable. I also use an ugreen adapter that works perfect for all the other cores. Maybe the sync output from the core is a bit different from the standard? for arcade pcbs with rare sync I use the Martin Jones sync stabilizer that helps sometimes: https://martin-jones.com/2014/09/16/t...

Re: Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode
Hi Javi, is the official release stable for you? here the image is still dancing (LG with pretty good compatibility with rare syncs). Haven't tested with an original PS1 yet.

Re: Awful sound?
Dunno if this is the cause, but to get proper sound you need a good quality DAC and connect it via TOSLink or Mini-Toslink. Both FX-Audio DAC-X6 and Topping E30 sound good to my ears.
Check this out: https://nitter.net/topapate/status/1356278639516532743 . I tried a similar one but it doesn't sound very good.

Re: VPN on MiSTer
If you want to run the VPN in the MiSTer instead of the router I'd look for Wireguard since, as far as I know, it performs better on machines without AES-NI - like the DE10-Nano.

Re: 128MB SDRAM v2.9
Thank you for your help.
For U4 I think it's HTC Korea TAEJIN Tech LM1117F-3.3 instead of HTC Korea TAEJIN Tech LM1117F-5.0 or LM1117F-ADJ linked in a previous post. The schematic specifies 3.3V so I'd choose LM1117F-3.3. From RetroCastle photo it looks it's effectively LM1117F-3.3.

Re: 128MB SDRAM v2.9
About U3 (LVC1G04), the footprint looks identical to the one in sdram 2.4/2.5, and according to the wiki it's SN74LVC1G04DBVR (SOT-23-5).

Re: 128MB SDRAM v2.9
I talked to Jotego about version 2.4/2.5 and he said the RAM chips on the board are suffering due to working out of specification, but most probably the DE10-Nano is safe. Even when my SDRAM 2.4 works stable I'd like to build a pair of 2.9 modules but BOM is not available. The LDO used is in a nonstandard package. The LM1117 does not come in SOT89....

Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode
Hello! My CRT TV, although it works fine with almost every core and even arcade boards with rare sync, doesn't seem to like the PSX core sync. I wonder if it's planned to make an option to make sync more compatible or some bug to fix, or I should just use another TV. Latest releases from January used to work fine, but lately the image is always rol...

Maybe those RBF files are corrupted? If manually downloading them doesn't work I'd start from scratch using a different MicroSD card.

Before the official USB HUB I used a Digitus DA-70222. It worked fine for me although I didn't give it heavy use or measured lag.

Re: Made my Own VGA to Scart cable, audio buzzing!!
For CSYNC line the adequate resistor in series is 470Ω. This is the voltage using a Rankie HDMI to VGA converter and a consumer TV set, ~400mV, being 1V the maximum acceptable:
It would be fine even for TTL CSYNC assuming your TV set is 75Ω terminated.

If you are using the HDMI to VGA converter for direct_video be sure the cable fits the female VGA connector.

Re: Best Controller Setup For MiSTer?
For me the best controller by far is the Sega Saturn first model in Japan, the rounded one (HSS-0101, I think it's the same as the second model in Europe) and Daemonbite controller.
I can't make the Tiger Knee (SF2') in any other controller.

Maybe it's due to tolerance in Analog I/O board resistors?

Re: My Mistakes with MiSTer
Congratulations for your repairs.
My mistake was not discharging myself before touching the Nano being near a CRT. I felt a discharge when touching the middle button, even using a full case. Fortunately it apparently still works perfect, although I may have damaged the MiSTer, so I got a backup Nano just in case.
Beware of the ESD!
