CIFS error mounting due to Superblock error?
Hi all, just thought I'd ask the community for advice on something I can't fathom how to resolve. I'm trying to help someone out (remotely) and they're getting an error CIFS mounting "Can't read superblock". The CIFS file is a copy of a working config I use with their parameters edited in for Server and Share. Here are the things I've che...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Good to know. I've now just ordered a dual 44 pin CF to IDE adapter for my A3020 so will hopefully be able to mount 2 HDD images to do a comparison on real machine vs MiSTer.
Excellent stuff - I'm interested to hear how that goes! :D By the way, you may be just fine using Arculator 2 or other emulators to switch between real/emula...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Hopefully you'll see what I mean for James Pond and Twinworlds. Both work fine via Arculator 0.99 & RiscOS3.1 (same hard disk image so literally 'the same' installation). Also, Pacmania runs way too fast via MiSTer - I posted about CPU timings there too. For those interested in Arculator, there is a newer v2.00 version available here: http://b...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Could you describe the glitches please ? It is possible that the core isn't accurate enough, thus palette changes don't happen at the right time. Sure - I logged them as issues in the Archie GitHub and posted pictures as examples: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Archie_MiSTer/issues/9 Hopefully you'll see what I mean for James Pond and Twinworlds....

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
I'd be interested in giving this image a try on a real A3020. I have one with a 512MB CF fitted. I have just joined this forum so I don't think I can PM you ATM. Regards Andy I tried to PM you myself but my message is stuck in the Outbox for some reason (same for my message to @kathleen Maybe they're queued up and will go out shortly? ... been 30m...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Hi, I never knew you could do that :) I never actually owned an Archimedes, most of what I know about RiscOs is from the Raspberry Pi version. Anyway, that fixed most of the issues. ADFFS games work fine (at least the two that I tried did), and also a glitchy screen in Nevryon is fixed. Twin Worlds still doesn't work. It does on the Raspberry Pi, ...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
After a bit of head scratching (and swearing) I managed to get the core working with an HD image, and to install and configure Uniboot, so thanks very much for the great work. I've been testing a few games, and most of them work fine. One exception is Twinworld, which has corrupted graphics. Also, any attempt to use ADFFS results in an unrecoverab...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Hi All, I've just built a 'Fully Loaded' (well, lots of apps and games) MiSTer Archimedes Hard Drive configuration and have found a few issues I wondered if anyone else can validate. First, some of the games seem to be running a little fast - take Pacmania for example, it runs faster than I recall (I don't have a physical Archimedes any more to che...

Anyone working on a Namco System 1 core for MiSTer?
Hey all, Are there any dev's out there working on the Namco System 1 core? And are is there much love for it amongst the forum members? My favourite arcade game of all time is Pacmania and whilst it plays well on the MiniMig (Amiga) and Genesis cores, I'd LOVE to see it running on MiSTer on its own Arcade core. Contributing to the development of th...

Jiffy Dos vs base kernel vs ??
Hey All,
I use Jiffy Dos primarily with my C64 core - but it doesn't have tape support so I often revert back to stock.
Are there any other kernels recommended for use with the MiSTer C64 that have benefits of JiffyDos in terms of performance (and maybe a few other bells and whistles), but like stock can handle tape loading?

Where's the Speccy love?
So, the forum has been open a few days now, and no posts about the venerable Spectrum! C'mon guys, let' get some discussion going. Here, I'll start - with the Spectrum Next being open source, does anybody want to see Spectrum Next specific functionality available in MiSTer? My thoughts are 'not necessarily so' - I have all the nostalgia I'm after w...

Seconded! I'd love to have HDF support in the Archimedes (an A3020 user in the 90's)retrofan01 wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 8:57 am Been enjoying this core as an A3010 owner in the mid-90s! Any chance .hdf support could be added? I'd love to be able to use the hard disk image from my original system.
