Does the GunCon 2 work with the Saturn core?

Hi no it doesn't , you need the Virtua gun and the Saturn SNAC adaptor.

To get some of the games you mentioned above to work on my CRT after using them on my Hdmi tv was to delete the cfg files but some cores like battlezone and asteroids and a few more wont sync at all..

Re: SNAX and the "Sega Arcade Racer"

Hi! I recently tried my trusty "Sega Arcade Racer" (original Sega Racing Wheel) on the saturn core via SNAX64. It turns out the core doesn't seem to register any input at all... A normal joypad works though... I've experimented with the "reflex adapt" and the "sega arcade racer". "Reflex adapt" does register...

Re: Sega Megadrive Arcade Power Stick

Yeah, I believe that's correct. Looks like the descriptions on misterfpga.co.uk also say not to use a level shifter for those systems' adapters. Had this email from them today All SNAC adapters which do not have a built in level shifter, basically all of these addon adapters https://misterfpga.co.uk/product/mister-snac-controller-adapters/ require...

Yeah, most consoles' controllers ran off of 5v. N64 and PS1 use 3.3v though, so you wouldn't need it for SNAC adapters for those systems.

so i have Snac for
N64
Ps1
Nes
Snes
Pc engine
Atari 2600
Master System
Megadrive.

is it only N64 and PS1 that wont need the board ?.. Cheers

Re: Sega Megadrive Arcade Power Stick

Ah, misterfpga.co.uk? Looks like their adapters don't include the level shifter, so you would indeed need one, it's sold as a "SNAC Adapter For MiSTer USB": https://misterfpga.co.uk/product/mister-snac-adapter-usb/ I'm guessing the pad works without it since its chip might work OK with 3.3v, but it's probably a good idea to get the level...

Re: Sega Megadrive Arcade Power Stick

i did email them and they confirmed i would need a the level shift adaptor with the ones they sell, shame they hadn't mentioned this before as i had purchased all of them, so it looks like i use the Shift adapter on all the Snac ones, although i haven't had any issues only with the Sega stick, Ill let you know if it sorts the issue with the arcade ...

Re: Sega Megadrive Arcade Power Stick

Hmm, hopefully it's just the connector, maybe try cleaning it with some isopropyl alcohol or something. You'd probably only need a level shifter if you got one of the SNAC adapters that cost less than $10 USD off of Aliexpress, but if you paid a lot more than that, I assume it's built into the adapter. Otherwise the SNAC adapter won't send the cor...

Re: Sega Megadrive Arcade Power Stick

I have stripped and cleaned, i should have said its a duel ram set up, whats a level shifter board ? i saw them on the website.. cheers. I did put it back to a single ram, I'm sure its better on some games but Sonic just tries to left and right and most of the other games work great, so i think the Stick is good, mines connected with the Snac to th...

I know a fair amount of MiSTer users also have an Analogue Pocket FPGA, so this may be of interest — the latest firmware + Amiga core update lets you use the same HDF image on both devices: https://twitter.com/amiga_vision/status/1747890280769167613 Always good to see the Amiga on the pocket getting an update, unfortunately some games run very fas...

Re: Latest Saturn_DualSDRAM Unstable Build Issue?

Then the digital board would be fine for you. But currently only the Saturn, Beta Jaguar, PSX and the Y unit core use dual. And for the Saturn and PSX they dont add a great deal. I know I think it's because I thought I had the right equipment and it didn't work, I thought something was faulty, but now I know I'll just wait to see how the cores dev...

Re: Latest Saturn_DualSDRAM Unstable Build Issue?

Dont forget to Move SW3 back to off. It was cause issues with the single ram build and IO board if you leave it on Would I need a metal case if ever I wanted another ram stick ? As there wouldn't be a fan, or would the heatsink be enough ?. Also what size ram is there ? Is there just one stick of 128 I could replace mine with, I'm not even sure wh...

Re: Latest Saturn_DualSDRAM Unstable Build Issue?

Yes you simply dont have Dual Ram. You would appear to have an Analog IO board and that doesnt support dual ram. You would need 2 Ram sticks on either side. You should move SW3 back to its off position. Dual Ram is currently only possible with no IO board or a Digital IO board. To be honest it dawned on me, like a lightbulb suddenly came on, I tho...

Re: Latest Saturn_DualSDRAM Unstable Build Issue?

Both of these work fine with my Dual Ram setup The fact you get a reset shows that you have an installation error or a hardware failure in the 2nd Ram Chip when fitting dual ram, you will be fitting a digital IO board and you must switch SW3 on the De10. See this excellent guide from Misterfpga.co.uk https://misterfpga.co.uk/dual-sdram-mister-fpga...

Re: Latest Saturn_DualSDRAM Unstable Build Issue?

Thanks for the reply, I will check the switches, it was purchased brand new, pre built so maybe the switches wasn't put in the correct order, either way the link is certainly a good read . Cheers.

Edit... It was indeed set incorrectly, I will retry the cores and see what happens.. Thanks..

Latest Saturn_DualSDRAM Unstable Build Issue?

Hi Guys I hope to shed some light on why my mister seems to reset, so the Led's blink and the mister restart's when trying to load the above Saturn core, I have dual ram v2.9. the standard version all loads fine even the Latest Saturn unstable build works, just not the DualSDRAM version. This also happens on the Y-Unit_20240105 ( Smash Tv ) core. A...
