Re: IGS PGM?

I'd love to see an IGS PGM core... they have quite a few amazing games that rival Neo Geo.

Been hoping for some dev to pick this one up, but no luck so far.

Anyway, as I cannot do it myself, cannot complain... just keep hoping :)

There’s bound to be games that aren’t well-tested in the collection — make sure you file any issues you find in the issue tracker, and we’ll take a look!

Re: AmigaVision 2024.08.18 Released with CD³² Support for MiSTer + Game Updates

Hi! I was testing some of the games I have in physical format, and I found 2 games that always seem to generate a Software Failure: Tanks Furry (OCS)[en] Bridge Strike (OCS)[en] One of them (I believe it's Tank's Fury, loads the Trainer, but then boom... software Failure! Not sure if there's anything I need to do differently, but these are the only...

Dont use the Analog output. Connect to the Toslink output and use a DAC. The analog out will never give you a good output

That may be the option, but this was working well before...

I can also try and see if I can test with the HDMI out, but my screen does not have speakers.

Re: Amiga Key / ALT Key swapped

Nice idea, that Mistress 500 though! Buy a knackered amiga cheap, say 60 quid, plus 140 quid for the Mistress. 200 quid well spent. Interesting! My version is the Amiga 1200 one, but yes, it's great! I would recommend it to anyone using MiSTer mostly to emulate classical computers. Looking at https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/blob/master...

Re: Scratchy sound on several cores

I am using the analog output from my MiSTress (an expansion board that fits inside an Amiga 1200 case).

To be clear, this was not a problem before, the whole system worked well.

And I need to try and test other cores/games as I couldn't find a problem with the Genesis core for instance.

Maybe the audio subsystem from my MiSTress has just died? :(

Scratchy sound on several cores

Hi, Since I last updated my MiSTer, I have been having problems with sound on several cores. Usually happens on the bass notes and manifestates as heavy crackling. I have tested it in the Amiga Core (with Oh No More Lemmings), the SNES Core (Chrono Trigger) and Playstation Core (Castlevania - Symphony of the Night) and they all display the same pro...

Amiga Key / ALT Key swapped

Hi,

I have my MiSTer inside an Amiga case (I'm using a Mistress board) and despite loving my setup, there's one thing that drives me crazy.

When using the Amiga core, the Amiga Key seems to be mapped to my ALT keys (to reboot I have to press CTRL+ALT+ALT).

How can I swap these keys, for the Amiga core only?

Thanks

Re: Amiga 16-bit AHI audio support (Update: Released!)

This sounds great (pun intended)

I have never come across an Amiga with an additional sound card. What is the use case here?

Are there any games that support this? (that also run on the MiSTer?)

Great to see this amazing pack being finetuned.

I know the MiSTer version is available on archive.org, but can anyone point me in the direction of the version to use with a real Amiga1200?

Thanks

I can try that.

I have a Sidewinder Force Feedback with USB plug.

Any recommended game I can use for the test?

Hi,

Did you progress on your troubleshooting attempt?

Where are you getting the MT32-pi sound coming from? The MT32-pi jack, or loopback through the MiSTer?

Re: Real Floppy Disk Drive for MiSTer FPGA Current Progress

This last update from Rob is really cool and it shows how close we are to having a working device. Was also very excited to learn that a regular PC floppy drive can be used to read/write both PC and Amiga disks without any additional hardware (besides the board that Rob has created). I had concerns about how the floppy drive would be powered, but R...

MiSTress1200 and MT32-Pi Configuration Problems

Hi, I have just bought an MT32-Pi (from Ultimate Mister) and I'm having some trouble configuring it with my MiSter (using a Mistress 1200 board). Basically the issue is that the MiSTer does not seem to be able to detect the MT32-pi (the MiSTer logo does not show during the MT32-pi boot and the MT32-pi menu option is not showing on the MiSTer menu)....

Re: MiSTress - Conversion Kit for Amiga cases

We've done a backplate for the new MiSTress 600. We will do the same for the 1200. The STL file will be freely available once is done. It's unlikely we sell this part separately but it will be included as standard with the 1200 kit (once done, of course). The problem with the fan is that there is no clearence for a bigger fan. For the 600 we've de...

Re: Real Floppy and AO486

Remember that all floppies are wearing out, so running from them means you're gradually wrecking them, and there aren't new ones being made. My suggestion would be to use DD in Linux to copy each of your original floppies to an image file, run from the images, and carefully preserve the originals. That puts the least wear possible on a limited res...

Re: Real Floppy and AO486

Yeah, Don't get me wrong, I was excited to see it do "something" with my disks. you can interact with the disk, you can run dir, as soon as you start copying files or run programs it will get to a certain point and just sit there forever with the drive clicking away. I had to reboot the core to get it back. These are known good floppies....

I'm glad you like the core. Right now it's not a priority, there's a long way to go before that, like not relying on serdrive at all. However, even if it is possible to do what you are proposing, I think there would be limitations. USB floppy drives are not exactly the same as the original ones with controller, in the sense that (it seems to me) t...

I have asked a similar question on the AO486 core, but since this core is being actively developed, here it goes: Is it possible to connect a USB floppy drive to the MiSTer and use it within the core? If not, is it somewhere on the roadmap? Asking because floppies do play a big role on my nostalgia, despite being an unreliable media at best. In any...

It is possible but it doesn't work right. mounts fine, reads the floppy disk but when you read from it something weird happens like it runs out of a buffer somewhere and just stalls when copying. Caldors steps are correct but it has been more than a year since I did it. Create an empty USB_FLOPPY.img file, symlink the read drive into it, then moun...

Re: Microcomputer Cores Feature Wishlist

Assuming the ADF reader on Minimig is already operating like a Floppy drive, redirecting the I/O will hopefully not be too much work (this coming from someone that does not know how to develop a FPGA core, it just makes sense to me).

Anyway, hopefully one of the devs will take an interest and implement this.

Thanks for sharing the video.
