Here are the Autoexec.bat and config.sys I use to run Pinball Dreams 2 in MS-DOS 6.22.2220kathleen wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:47 pm @NightShadowPT, I'd be interested and really appreciate also to know your autoexec.bat and config.sys that you used for pinball dreams 2 because I've just tried on my side with different settings and I always end with a black screen once I select a table. I for sure have something wrong configured but I do not know what.

Re: AO486 Compatibility List
Thank you @NightShadowPT, very kind to you. I'll compare this evening the differences with my set up, I fell, seeing your autoexec that it is a matter of QEMM wrong configured on my side, I've also just noticed, thanks to the compatibility list, that for this game there is a comment saying : "boot1_opensource.rom (black screen otherwise)", maybe I do not have the right boot1 for this game, this is another point that I did not think about. Anyway, 'll keep you posted

Yes, I just added a second comment. I'm running the regular Boot1 rom, not the opensource one and it works.kathleen wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 3:54 am Thank you @NightShadowPT, very kind to you. Terminal Velocity runs okay in SVGA, not as smooth as VGA, but very playable.

Re: AO486 Compatibility List
I've just tried PD2 by changing my setup in order to stick with your config.sys and autoexec.bat and this doesn't work. I then changed the boot1 by the opensource version and also went back to my previous set up and bingo, the game worked as it should. Well, this does not answer to my question, I still do not know what causes the problem if I use the "normal" boot1.rom (last version).NightShadowPT wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 4:18 amYes, I just added a second comment. Anyway, thank you for your help and also to have reminded me that the opensource version of the boot1 was existing.

Re: AO486 Compatibility List
Things I've learned about Pinball Dreams 1/2:
- Choose Soundblaster. Not 2.0, not Pro, Soundblaster. Otherwise, you will hang when you try to select a table.
- 70Hz mode sucks. There's nothing I've been able to manage so far that doesn't judder like hell.

Not sure what happened to the contributor section. I still keep adding games that I am testing.
Re: AO486 Compatibility List
Does "Magic Carpet" really work in-game? I can see the nice intro, the menu, but when I click on the spinning planet sphere to start actual gameplay, the game stalls forever in the loading screen (showing the CD), never getting in game. There are even youtube videos of this game running on ao486, but I don't see it working with the current version... Using DOS 6.33 here.

Re: AO486 Compatibility List
Didn't try the game myself, but there also was a floppy version and from what I read about the game running in Dos Box the CD caused sometimes problems where the floppy version worked.vanfanel wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 9:29 am Does "Magic Carpet" really work in-game? I have not loaded that one yet myself. I will today and see if it works for me.

Did the comments get out of sync? I noticed volfied comments are listed up a couple of rows up.

I have tried the floppy version and does exactly the same thing, except it shows a floppy instead of a CDChris23235 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 12:49 pmDidn't try the game myself, but there also was a floppy version and from what I read about the game running in Dos Box the CD caused sometimes problems where the floppy version worked.vanfanel wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 9:29 am Does "Magic Carpet" really work in-game? Re: AO486 Compatibility List
I tried the ExoDos version and it seemed to run fine (only played for a minute or so). Setup of this version is straight forward, just copy the MagCarp folder to your VHD and run carpet.exe.
Re: AO486 Compatibility List
ExoDOS only seems to offer Magic Carpet PLUS and Magic Carpet 2, right?Chris23235 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 10:10 am I tried the ExoDos version and it seemed to run fine (only played for a minute or so). Thanks! MC2 is very nice indeed. I tried the CD version and it seemed to work. I just flew around for a few minutes and used the laser cannons, no problem here.

Re: AO486 Compatibility List
The CD-ROM support in today's core update fixed the problem with Wing Commander III crashing after a few seconds. Unfortunately I wasn't able to calibrate a joystick properly, did anyone had more luck?
