I've just gotten a de10-nano with no addons yet and tried some arcade cores with mixed results.
Bombjack and Tetris work pretty well but if i try Rampage I get all these white blocks instead of sprites.
If I try Silkworm or Rygar i just get a Green screen.
Last i tried jotego's bubble bobble and got a yellow screen after a few seconds of black.
Am I doing something wrong or is the unit defective ?
Is my de10-nano defective ?

Re: Is my de10-nano defective ?
Maybe it just needs the sdram addon?
I tried the Genesis and it works great.

Re: Is my de10-nano defective ?
Yes, that's almost certainly what you're seeing. Most cores require the SDRAM board, and if it's not present they'll mostly just fail in various ways (there are technical reasons that it's difficult to show a proper error message for this situation). SDRAM is optional for Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, GBA, and a few arcade cores.

Get a 32mb ram addon unless you are ok with spending more but only the Neo Geo core needs more memory.

Get the 128mb newer SDRAM module personally.
https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_Mi ... -use-SDRAM
The Neo Geo core requires it. it's possible the PSX core will require it (the goal is ddr according to Laxer3A but no one knows yet as there may be latency issues, not clear yet). Not to mention any newer cores that may require it in the future.
