My (very short) observation is: It depends on the core. I run it using option 8, but some cores don't work for me unless I change it to e.g. 0 (1280x720@60). I guess it might depend on the TV? I have an LG 55" B7. The cores I have noticed so far isn't working with option 8 are Dig Dug and DigDug2.

1920×1080@60 is a straight 2× upscale, so that’s usually what you want.

Unless your TV does 1440p upscale better, some newer ones do. Try both and see which one looks better.

Thanks for the tip! I heard that a couple of cores have slightly odd resolution outputs - I don't have that info displayed when swapping cores though. ..so have been oblivious.

So far I have only run my two MISTers on a ASUS gaming monitor which is 1920*1080 running on option 8 & vsync_adjust=1
so make scrolling messages etc in AMIGA & C64 demos run buttery smooth when they are outputting 50hz..

One of the two MiSTer's is moving downstairs onto a 4k OLED (LG) 65'' when I have finished propogating the SD card.

I'll try those two resolutions.
Up here in the "fun room" i've connected to HD monitor @ 1920*1080 and its been great at option 8 with Vsync adjust on 1.

The OLED has preciously had a SNES & NES Mini & "ARMiga" connected - all outputting at 720 and they scaled up remarkably well to 4K.

I'll try both your suggested options. :-)
