Video problem, can anyone help me?

Unread post by silentheaven83 »

Hi everybody,

can anyone help me understanding what is the problem of my MISTer?

I attached two videos. I'm using HDMI and the default background.

When it happens, normal reboot doesn't solve the problem, cold reboot does.
Thanks.

Yes it does solve the problem but then it happens again randomly.

Is it an hardware problem?

Can you please elaborate a bit more? Is it an hardware problem?

Monitor? SDRAM? HDMI port? MISTer itself?

You are telling me that this happens frequently when someone change the core on the fly without doing a cold reset bewteen?

sometimes a reset doesn't clear the memory completely, it seems related to a hardware bug in the DE10-Nano.
just do a full reboot and you will be fine.

I have multiple MiSTers and it happens to all of them. Like suggested above a power cycle or hitting the reset button clears it up.

It's HW glitch in FPGA. Currently there are no other solutions except reset or power cycle. Hybrid FPGA is not designed to reload the cores on the fly originally.
