I have to agree, Srg320, and Sorg did a fantastic job on this core, making it perhaps the most accurate.. and quite possibly best way to play TG16 anywhere. Also thanks to Dave for his in depth knowledge of CD seek times and hardware details, and testing versus his extensive library of real hardware and games.
Re: Just wanted to say awesome work srg320 and Sorgelig!
Yep,thx to both and all others we have a nice collection of cores on our MISTer.
Re: Just wanted to say awesome work srg320 and Sorgelig!
The CD part is seriously impressive. I don't think I've seen any other PCE implementations (or any other CD system implementations, really) that actually get that right, even down to the specific timings.

Amazing work. The potential of the MiSTer never ceases to amaze. Very much appreciated!!!

I can't thank Mr. Sorg and Srg320 about this core. Just fantastic!!
Re: Just wanted to say awesome work srg320 and Sorgelig!
Thank you so much for your amazing work. The pc engine is one of my favorite console, but i never took the time to explore much the CD library (i have only played the classic ones). With the ease of use of mister, it is so simple to play the games and the feeling is great, lag and filter wise. Now i just need a pcengine case for my mister

Thanks for making this my favourite core of the bunch. I've only had experience with HuCard games, so it's been great exploring the CD library. Hoping to get a SNAC and TG-16/PC Engine adapter to connect my TG-16 controller directly.

Been finally playing Gradius Gopher again - as my PCengine Duo-R has been pushing up the daisies for quite some time. It feels quite good - like on the original system. Kudos!

Re: Just wanted to say awesome work srg320 and Sorgelig!
SNAC has limitations due to the fact that original PC Engine controller timings are tighter than the current open-collector outputs are reliable for, on the existing circuitry. While a single 2-button controller should work, there are issues with pretty much any other configuration. This is why we raced to get all the special controllers into the core all at once in the beginning (except pachinko - but nobody plays that).JUNKER Seed wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 12:01 pm Thanks for making this my favourite core of the bunch. I still believe that some sort of new PC Engine-specific User IO board will be able to deal with these limitations, but you should consider this port to be developer-only.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm not in any rush -- I'm fine with alternating between my 8BitDo M30 (BT) and NeoGeo PS3 USB controllers.dshadoff wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 1:24 pmSNAC has limitations due to the fact that original PC Engine controller timings are tighter than the current open-collector outputs are reliable for, on the existing circuitry. Yes, thank you guys so much for your hard work. I've been glued to my seat playing all the imports I always saw in EGM as a kid and never got to play.
Hell, I prefer it over my original US TurboDuo if only for the fact that it looks so much better on my CRT via RGB. That and less hassle dealing with limited save file space.

@Digitron I've been leaving it set to fast, unless I get problems, but I've never had the chance to experience this system before now so I don't know what's normal or not. Thank you to the dev's it's so awesome to have the chance to play with a really great recreation of it. Thanks for all of the hard work that went into this.

Re: Just wanted to say awesome work srg320 and Sorgelig!
The CD fast seek option saves maybe a second or so at times, but really not so much that it's worth toggling.
Without the delays, the cinemas lack gravitas because the actions and sounds don't match up like a bad dub; also, there are a couple of games where ADPCM makes noises if this is off.
Frankly, I don't see what the point of disabling the delay is, but the option was left there, just in case.
