Re-Assigning Keyboard Keys

Unread post by siskavard »

Hiya MiSTers,

Is there a way I can re-assign the 'take screenshot' hotkey (windows + Print Screen) to something else? The wireless keyboard I use for Mister doesn't have a Print Screen key. I can, of course, plug in another keyboard to take a screenshot, but I don't want to have to do this every single time.

Thanks

How exactly did you re-assign the keys?

Follow these steps:

1. From the MiSter Menu go to Remap Keyboard
2. When it asks 'press key to remap', just press the key you want to use, for example in my case I used the key P.
3. When it asks 'press key to map [address] on to any keyboard', just press the combo 'Fn and PrtSc' on your keyboard
4. Press enter
5. Job done! Enjoy your screenshots by pressing win+P
6. If you want to change the key again, you can either repeat the steps above or delete the file kbd_XXXX_XXXX.map within the folder /media/fat/config

It's simply not working for me, I don't know why.

EDIT: Got it working - I was attempting to set up the key swap between two different keyboards, since the one I use with Mister has no 'Print Screen' button. I just needed to have both keyboards plugged in at the same time to swap them.

Thanks for the help!

Hi there ! I have the same issue but I don't have another keyboard to do your trick :(
And I can't find my keyboard's config input file in the MiSTer's folders themselves.

Anyone would have any idea how I can solve this ?...
