Introducing MiSTerP (P stands for Portable)
I am developing a portable handheld for the Mister community.
Its just at prototype stage at the moment but I did want to show my progress.
Images I posted are early prototype so go easy on me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (my wiring is usually a lot neater)
Specs are as following (liable to change in final design)
de-10 nano
ips 7 inch 1280x800 screen
4 hour battery life (with Visual Indicator)
400gb sd card
file transfer via ethernet
analog to digital audio
external speakers and audio jack
abs plastic case
dpad + 4 front buttons (soft touch), 4 menu buttons, 2 buttons at back (L + R)
Power button and External speaker button at top, audio jack and charger jack at back
replaceable ram module
RTC clock
Took about 2 months to get to a working prototype stage. Had to do some redesigns to get to this point.
Also had to upgrade some of my tooling to get professional build results including laser cutter, resin printer, CNC machine
2 areas I spent more time on than I had planned was the battery and the controls.
For the battery in the end I had to design my own using 6 18650 battery's and a BMS system. I was able to achive 4 hours with this config.
For the controls d-pad etc I tried most off the shelf components but was unhappy with em so developed my own 3d models and resin printed em.
Future Plans
When I have a final design I will release the design files.

Re: Introducing MiSTerP
0 progress since. no time lol.
I was about 95 percent there design wise. I will do a write up and release the design files I have soon. With the BOM list people should be able to replicate my design.

Re: Introducing MiSTerP
Not bad at all especially as this is a work-in progress prototype.
It is my great regret that we live in an age that is proud of machines that think and suspicious of people who try to.
