MiSTer IRC Channel :: irc.libera.chat @ ##MiSTerFPGA
Hello all.
I thought it'd be quite fun to start a MiSTer FPGA related channel over on the Libera IRC network.
The channel is ##MiSTerFPGA on irc.libera.chat
It's also fun to connect to from your MiSTer itself -- from Linux, Minimig, or ao486 cores (and surely more!)
I hope to see some faces in there soon! Who knows if someone will stumble upon this post some years later to find a vibrant community there for them.

Re: MiSTer IRC Channel :: irc.freenode.net @ ##MiSTerFPGA
So far, I've connected with the following MiSTer cores:
- Atari ST Atari IRC v2.10 client
- ao486 Windows 3.11 mIRC v5.9 16bit client, DOS IRCJr
- Amiga AmIRC 3.9
- C64 Using RetroTerm 56k terminal connect to BBS: LU8FJH-C64.DDNS.NET:6402 Use IRC connection
I want to connect using the C64 core, but I can't find an IRC client that works on MiSTer. Does anyone know if there is an IRC client for the C64 that will work with the MiSTer?

Re: MiSTer IRC Channel :: irc.freenode.net @ ##MiSTerFPGA
I had to look this up since I didn't knwo this was a thing. I think the MiSTer C64 core connection would be insanely slow since it's simulating original hardware right? Like 1200 baud or something?
But either way I'm interested in this as well, would be fine to have a goofy super low res IRC client running on it that updates like one character every 10 seconds or something.

Has anyone got this running on c64 yet?
EDIT:
I just found something called a C64Net device which supposedly has software with IRC made for it.
Try the software from this? It has an IRC client.
EDIT2:
https://github.com/AlexB7/geoLink64
what about this?
EDIT3:
X68000 would be fun too. CLAT IRC client is apparently what you can use for it.

Re: MiSTer IRC Channel :: irc.libera.chat @ ##MiSTerFPGA
I just wanted to bump the thread again and state that the channel has moved from Freenode over to LiberaChat for reasons outside of my control.
Hoping to see some new faces this time around! Lol

Re: MiSTer IRC Channel :: irc.libera.chat @ ##MiSTerFPGA
I'm not having any luck connecting to irc.libera.chat:6697 server with my Atari ST or Windows 3.11 client.
I don't have any issues connecting to irc.freenode.net:6667.
Update: I'm able to connect to irc.libera.chat:6667

MS-DOS client, ircjr from mTCP suite is working also fine, been able to connect to ##MiSTerFPGA channel without any issues
On Minimig, AmIRC 3.6.2 works as well, tested with MiamiDX.

Bumping because people seem to be wondering about an IRC channel.
Converters I've written: Floppy DIM/FDI/FDD/HDM to D88, D88 to XDF, Tape SVI 318/328 CAS to WAV
Re: MiSTer IRC Channel :: irc.libera.chat @ ##MiSTerFPGA
I tried and like the ircjr dos client.
Too bad the ##MiSTerFPGA channel is silent most of the time.
