Scaler not working for me on many vertical arcade cores
I haven't tried for awhile, but I heard about the new Donkey Kong and wanted to play it. I have it rotated 90 degrees in the Menu settings using the scaler (my TV is not rotated on its side). Unfortunately, it cuts off the bottom of the screen on my 15Khz TV. It looks like it is doing 1:1 pixel mapping and since their aren't enough pixels, it just cuts them off. Many other cores have this same problem such as Ms. Pacman and Spy Hunter. Other cores work just fine. I haven't changed my INI file and it used to fit on the screen just fine. I tried adjusting some scaler settings, but they did not help. If I don't rotate it 90 degrees, it fits on the screen. Is this a bug or a new feature? Thanks.

Did this work before? You are using the scaler on vga? 15khz crt?thorr wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 7:10 am I haven't tried for awhile, but I heard about the new Donkey Kong and wanted to play it. Yes, it worked before. I am scaling to 240p with the MiSTer scaler, and using the HDMI output and then converting that to component video with an external hdmi to component converter. Thanks.

Just a bump and wondering if this will be addressed. This is what I am using to connect the HDMI port to my 15kHz CRT TV's component inputs:

Re: Scaler not working for me on many vertical arcade cores
I hooked back up my HDMI to Svideo converter that allows me to play vertical games rotated 90 degrees with the scaler on my CRT TV in 480i. I guess I prefer this to 240p since there is more resolution, although it would be nice to have both options like I used to (240p broke with the MiSTer scaler code updates).
I noticed a new problem that Spy Hunter cuts off the right side of the grass when in Original aspect ratio. The grass looks correct but everything is fat if I change the aspect ratio setting. I am running at 1440x1080 out the HDMI port of the MiSTer.
