I decided to try out the roguelike genre in ao486 and copied some games over such as ADOM, NetHack and a few others. All of them seem to lock up instantly on launch, stuck on the DOS screen and completely unresponsive. The only one I could get to load was the Epyx version of the original Rogue.
I noticed the ones that lock up are all bundled with CWSDPMI.EXE. Of course, I tried loading that first before the game's EXE but they still crash. Is this a known issue? Perhaps they are trying to use an unsupported video mode or something?
Any help would be appreciated!
Most roguelikes not working (CWSDPMI?)
Re: Most roguelikes not working (CWSDPMI?)
QEMM with QEMM's QDPMI.SYS loaded seems to do the trick. Thanks Spicer!

If anyone can figure out how to get DoomRL to run properly, please let me know! The game boots but crashes after you enter your character name and some text is displayed.

What version of QEMM are you using, and what's your config.sys look like? Everytime I've tried to mess around with QEMM on the ao486, it seems super unstable.
